I just got home from bowling in the PTQ and I can say it was great.  If it weren't for me not making the adjustment I need sooner and get 1 more spare a game, I would have been the top amateur qualifier.  Right out of the gate I used the classic zone drilled pin over the ring and mb in the strong position and standing 21 and throwing out to about 12 and it went really long with a little flip about 45 or so feet down the lane.  Then when the oil carried down a bit the classic just went too straight.  Tried the Ultimate Inferno with pin next to ring and cg out a little and went brooklyn strike, so i did a little parallel 2-2 move and threw pocket strike.  Although when i missed by a board to the right it was skate central, so i decided i didn't want to go any further left, i pulled out the impulse zone on my fill ball of my 3rd game.  Stood on 15 and threw it down 5 and left the 2-8.  Next game I decided to start standing on 11 and throwing down 5 and there it was, the line I needed.  I then went 258 which should have been 290 if it was for an 8 pin and a 10 pin but oh well it definitely happens.  So all in all in made me realize that I need to pay a little bit more attention and not be afraid of adjusting if i want to do the pba for the rest of my life.  All I can say was I wish I would have used the impulse starting out, then I can almost bet that I would still be bowling today, although Art Brown was on the pair next to me and his last game he through the front 8 for 277, so it would have been close.  And from where I was playing there should be no doubt that walter should make the show and win on this pattern.  The carry was great playing the outside.

Ike, did you find that you had to move left quickly as the pattern broke down? It looked like most players moved way left as the round went on. It looked like there was no hold at all from ten out to the gutter.

Thanks guys, actually Fabes, as soon as I moved there, I didn't have to move from games 5-9, that's why I found it to be the best line.  The amateur that made it was a lefty and he was playing the same line I was on the left sides.  It definitely was fun especially when Walter Ray was in the bleachers behind me watching us bowl and also seeing Mika, Parker, Tony Reyes, Jim Pratt, Rick Lawrence, all show up.  Walter was the first to show up and that was in about our 4th game.  But I never had to move after I made the huge adjustment from the middle of the lane to the outside line.
