It takes all kinds, in all sports. If Chris Barnes "choked", but won, then doesn't that mean that his opponents "choked" worse? And I can't believe how LITTLE attention was paid to the passing of a real legend, and a REAL nice guy! Dick Weber was the best thing to happen to bowling. But then, a lot of guys from that era were and still are the same! They LOVE bowling and weren't afraid to promote it. I find that lately, bowling associations are more interested in "controlling" the sport, and not promoting it. And that's why it's slowly dying! The do nothing to promote the sport over golf and whatever else is being done in their neighborhoods! And they also have no power to fix these dreaded lane conditions that the centers put down to get customers to score higher and also drive good bowlers away!
Chris Barnes is now the US Open champion, on the toughest condition they've laid down in ages. That alone deserves the same amount of respect that he gave DW! If you can't stand that, then go out and buy some cheese to go with your whine!
