His left side is paralyzed, but, somehow I'd almost be willing to bet he'll bowl again. "Spirit" is everything.

This is really sad. I have no knowledge specifically on what in his lifestyle caused such a sad medical condition. I hope he heals up soon. I am surprised that his finances are in such bad shape being he won millions, had ball contracts, apparel contracts, had a book or two released, and the like, but many celebrities in sports, entertainment, and music who made millions lost all of it.

Sometimes with strokes, it's nothing you do. I played in a band in college with a guy a couple of years older than me (meaning he's not 40 yet) who had a minor stroke at 35. He was a total straight-edge kind of guy, too -- no drugs, no alcohol. He was about 20-30 pounds overweight, but so is three-quarters of the population.
Sometimes the chamber stops spinning and the barrel has a bullet in it with your name on it.

Some say he along with Brian Voss had bad cocaine problems. After all, Earl Anthony fell down stairs drunk, Pete Weber was a drug addict, Norm Duke is a drunk, Jason Couch gambled away his TOC winnings....so goes the PBA Tour...unfortunately.
