Prize fund is lower?

Why did the PBA lower the prize fund for the tourney's?  It's now 25,000 compared to the normal 40,000.  That is not a good sign for the PBA.  I really feel that 25,000 in prize money is too low.

The Microsoft Millionaires that rescued the PBA several years ago have withdrawn some of the extra money they were putting in.

The PBA knew all along that this would happen if they couldn't find some way to stay afloat financially.

two of the four major tournaments had a huge cutback----pba world championship went from $120,000 to $50,000 and the tournament of champions went from $100,000 to $60,000.

You know that will really suck if that happens.  They should try and put the round of 8 on TV.  Try to bring in more money from sponsers.  You would think with how many bowlers there are out there that these company's would pay for the advertising.

I agree, but we all know why they arent. They too are trying to turn a profit and cant really add in much cash.

BTW, Bears and super bowl???? Kinda premature arent we?? Playoffs, sure, super bowl?????? Ehhhhhhhhhhnnooooo, not quite yet. The luck of the bears, 1 or 2 key players will get injured by the 13th game thus resulting in 2nd string players which usually results in lost games. (Im just seeing the reality aspect of it all, im not talking super bowl until they make it for sure)

True if it wasn't for Tivo I would not watch it.  
It is a pretty boring broadcast though.  They actualy said that robert's strike ball was so strong that it only hit 4 pins and still got a strike.
 
It would be cool to see what layouts the pros chose and why.  Could be done by charging the ball companys to have thier rep there on the broadcast like the Dexter approach used to do.

the pba's tv timeslot is dictated by espn----the pba does not have any say in this matter.
