Title: Master gloves Approved for PBA competition?

Anyone know.

I'm currently using a Master Imperial wristlet.

Smallest support I've ever used and loving it!

Approved?

The last regional I was at, the director said they were not approved, and after a quick check of the PBA site, Master is still not listed, so my answer would be no, it would not be allowed.  Good luck in your next event.

You cannot use anything by Master when bowling national or regional. My dad found out the hard way.

I seem to remember a thread awhile back where the stated you could not use non-registered equipment even if the logo was obscured.

Someone had made the match play in a regional wearing a non-registered wrist band. Once it was noticed he was fined and told to remove the band, no options.

From the PBA web site.

1.   Competitors may not use any non-registered bowling products in PBA competition.
2.   Competitors may not use a non-registered bowling ball in PBA competition.
3.   Competitors may not display non-registered company names and/or product logos in PBA competition.
4.   Competitors may not darken or in anyway obstruct any product registered logo.

Rule one would seem to exclude using master equipment period since they do not appear on the registered product list.

How come Mr. Weber gets to wear a golf glove with the logos whited out on them?

I used a very similar simple support made by Ebonite for years.  I could no longer find them and was forced to find something else.  I have real small hands and most of the supports were way to stiff and cumbersome for me.

Last year I purchased the Columbia Original Leather wrist support.  It's not as simple as yours but its extremely comfortable and not at all bulky.  It has a metal support front and back.  The wrist side metal can be bent if need be.  The palm insert is removable.  I purchased it through Mike Cimba's website at a very low price.

You might want to look into it as an alternative.

Exactly.

I can see not being able to use an approved bowling ball, but the wrist supports and gloves... c'mon!

Seriously, I'm pretty sure they will let you slide without the logo on it.

I'd have to check the actual rule, but I think that NON-Bowling products (golf gloves, etc) are OK as long as the logo is not visible.  Non-registerd bowling products (Master Products) are not allowed even if the logo is removed, covered,etc.

Actually, Master Products have not been allowed since January 2003.

I cant belive pba dosent allow Master and icant remeber if it was jeremy or ike that told me but the reason they don't is bc its showing a name so its promoting or shwoing the name and master didnt pay the pba to do that or osmething? idk?

Very Simply, the only bowling products that can be used in PBA events are those made by companies that have paid the PBA the Product Resgistration fees.  They cannot be used because Master did not pay the PBA the product registration fees.  Writing the PBA will not accomplish anything.  Until Master pays the fees, their products cannot be used in PBA events.

Your proshop guy has some wrong information on Contour inserts.  Inserts are not covered by the product registration rules.  Here is what the PBA Rule book says about inserts:

design are considered indiscriminate accessory items. The following
products fall into this category: Cork inserts, tape, grips, slugs and

Accessory Items for additional information.
