Looking for PBA bowling on TV
« on: February 10, 2013, 10:21:51 AM »
Lately I have been taping shows on the usual Sunday afternoon slot on ESPN and I am getting instead taped shows with basketball players, mini celebrities and football players.

Every once in a while I am seeing a pro lace a strike on the very obviously deep crown pattern.

Where or when during these shows is the pros bowling the pros?  I didn't even find the time to search for this fleeting moment.  Any pro bowling available....I keep seeing comments about these tournies but fail to find the TV show....

Thank you...

Seriously?

They have talked about the tournament from Detroit being on TV.  They have talked about the Earl Anthony tournament being on TV.

Is there a time on these shows when only the pros are bowling against each other?

Anyone know that simple answer?  Middle, beginning, end of show?  Last 20 minutes?  First 20 minutes?

Regards,

It's on now... or do you have an issue with the team format?

Seriously, what's the problem?  You didn't think they were going to hold a real tourney on SuperBowl Sunday, did you?  The team bowling that's on today from 1 pm to 3 pm will probably save the Tour regarding tv.

Ugggh, ask a simple question.  Get lot's of flaming.

Again, they have talked about tournaments from Detroit for almost a month.  Earl Anthony, some others.  I have only seen celebrities

Did the bowlers(pros only) already compete against each other?  Or is it coming up in the future?

When are celebrities not on the show and the real bowlers going head to head.  Last week?, this week?, next week?  End of this week's show?  Beginning?  Middle?

Thanks,

Luckylefty
Ps thank you for me helping me avoid scrolling through celebrity backup ball bowling!  I can go down on a sunday afternoon and watch pizza parties every weekend!

That's a good question, Lefty.  The PBA website doesn't mention when the Detroit singles events will be televised.  However, the PBA league is also only pros bowling, they just have the celebrity owners on the bench as well.

Perhaps one should read the format of the tournament that is on before flaming it.

The Detroit Swing is done in the same manner as the World Series.  They taped 5-6 different tournaments before airing them on tv.  A friend of mine won his first title almost a month ago and yet it still has not aired yet.  Think it may not air for another couple weeks.  Live doesnt really exist right now and not sure if it ever will again.  Its a shame.  But, I will take it any way I can as I still enjoy watching the best do what they do.

To the posters who directed me to this weeks show.

Saw it and enjoyed it.  Particularly the match at the end!

Loved seeing the ball choices by Gomez, well thought out and executed.
I am a big fan of the Shooting Stars cousin the Rising Star and 2nd cousin the Tropical Heat Indigo/Violet Solid!

Try ESPN Classic.  Best bowling on TV.
