I couldn't tell what Voss was using but it looked like it was giving him a great reaction...and after all he did win.  I thought Machuga's reaction might have been the best of the four but he didn't get much carry...it was a Zone but I don't know which one.  Barnes can make anything react like that Big Bully he was using and well Eugene...we won't talk about that.

What did you guys think?

the zone was a classic zone machuga was throwing and is one of the best balls out there right now in my opinion.

Not sure how he had it drilled (or them drilled; I think he used more than one), but while many/most Activator balls act more like polished solids, his reaction, especially in the 2nd game, seemd more like a pearl - very irregular. His stroke was amazingly good. His breakpoint management was problematic. Might have been his fault; might have been the lights or some combination thereof. He was good.

Oddly, both he and Barnes lost when they left 2/10 amd 2/4/10 on must-have-strike balls.

I think Voss had the carrydown/extra-dry breakpoint problem defeated with his stroker release today, although he got away with one brooklyn.

Sometimes it looked like Voss was pulling everything inside of his target or was he just too slow  or too controlling with that bent elbow armswing??

Machuga- Classic Zone
Voss- Triumph TNT
McCune-Thing Lives to AU79 then back to Thing Lives in the 9th or so.

I think Machuga was throwing the new Impulse Zone and not the Zone Classic.

Machuga sure looked good when he looked good over 1/2 the time!.

However he and Barnes were both projecting the ball down in to the lane.

These shots all ended up high!  What is going on with this fault of not controlling levelness at the pro tour level???

PS there was no way Machuga was going to carry with his Classic once he moved inside on this pattern.
For a Viper pattern this one sure lacked backend and looked awfully long!
