complaints? Sean Rash is a beast and he deserved that win, he made two amazing shots on a lane he hadn't struck except once the whole game to force devaney to double as well as converting the 2-4-10, the 2-10, and the 1-2-4-6-10.. props to Sean Rash, great bowling to him, he deserves that championship, way to bowl!

I meant complaints about the title of the topic.  Every time somebody puts the winner in the title, people throw a fit.

I think Sean EARNED that title.  Neither of them were bowling good, nobody really had that great of a look, but I think it was just conditions giving them trouble.  Sean threw a couple shots on the left lane I thought would at least get to the pocket, but they never made it.  To come back and double on that lane after picking up all those splits, you HAVE to hand it to him.  While he may not have struck a lot, that was a nice little exhibition of some skills.  The guy can hit what he's aiming at, so I think he was just a little behind the transition, as was Devaney.

Sean didn't only win the tournament, that was something that seemed a little more special than your average tv show even though there was a guy going for his first title.  He hit the spots when he was lined up in the first game, and when the lanes made it tough the last game, he converted 3 splits that most of us wouldn't make once if we had 5 or 6 shots at.  He picked up tough spares and had a huge double when he needed it.  How many of the other seasoned pros would have pulled that off?

He made those splits, overcame the pressure (I mean my heart was pumping during that 10th frame lol), AND started the tournament in the PTQ and worked his way through the crowd. Amazing. Look forward to seeing him again.

The bigger story is this kid came out of the PTQ no bowler supposed to come out the PTQ and win. Rash did not just have a good week or a good day HE EARNED EVERY BIT OF IT! This kid can play!.

By the way i love his release he just rolls right out of it, thats the chris barnes release.

#1 He throws it really well.
#2 He made some great shots to keep himself in the match.

Ok---now to where Im going to get flamed...

Is it just me, or didnt it appear that the right lane hooked less ALL DAY LONG??? I know they are pros and blah, blah, blah...

Shouldnt they have picked up in the difference in the pair. Its one thing to say "it was a little tricky", or the pattern played tighter. But no bowler allowed himself to go high on the left lane until Devaneys 4 pin late in the finals. I have said it before---to avoid going light incessantly, you have to give yourself a chance to go high. None of the bowlers did that today.

It was weird to watch. Im sure Ill get flamed for questioning the pros, but hey---whatever.

That's the Wichita release.

Nathan Bohr
Chris Barnes
Patrick Healey (although a little "weaker" style)

and many others who's names are escaping me at the moment.

I've asked hubby if I can go to Wichita and learn that release from Gordon himself. I can recognize a Wichita release from 6 pair away... Awesome

QUOTE:
I was there and before the final match while the trick shot challange was being thrown on ur TV's These guys were practicing on the TV Pair. Rash threw 2 different Vapor Zone's warming up, 2 Different Absolutes, and of course the origional inferno trying to get lined up. Devaney also had 2 different Zone Classics, the Ultimate Inferno, an Absolute Inferno, and his Vapor Zone that he used in qualifying Friday.

Believe me, they were trying to find somewhere to play consistantly and not leave corner pins, and go through the nose. Rash was throwing the tighter line like he used in the first game in that practice session and it came high every time, and when he tried to go out farther it hung... Same with Devaney.. The were both having trouble with over/under.

That just went to show me when Randy is stressing about how the lanes break down under those lights, it really does effect your look on the lanes ALOT. Neither one of them really looked comfortable when the commercial break was over and it was go-time..

Later,

Rodney Evans

Yes Rodney is correct. I also was there at the show.  That's exactly what they were doin.
