It was an enjoyable match to watch.

It is nice when the announcers, director, and not really very good film editors set back and just watch the show.

Best show of the season not because of what the producers did, but what they didn't.

big deal for any bowler to win a major, much less his first.and he beat big nasty to do it,looked like a tough shot out there.also did you notice wes was rolling the storm invasion? i know storm and roto grip are together.but should'nt wes, roto's biggest name be rolling a muntant cell? ball looked fantastic btw.

smallwood really pulled it out and handled the match and the showbiz jazz with class!  hats off to him

Glad to see USA Today did a story about him. I think I know the answer if I ask if ESPN the Magazine or Sport Center covered him.

And to mention he's a very nice guy, and great bowler.. Was a great bowler in thisstate like the Ewalds just made too much money to risk the tour..

Yes I know Dave pretty well, and believe he's as good as Smallwood & the others & would win on tour, but he has a family and a great job

greatest story in bowling, could this be a story that could finally bring the pba some publicity? probobly not. But the PBA finally has something that the media could run with.

greatest story in bowling,

Is it?  Would it really be good for the pba that a "guy building cars 12 months ago" wins a major before the likes of Wes?  Nothing against TS, great shooter and congrats to him.  But, I don't think it speaks well for the PBA as a whole that this happened.

It may show that there are some great bowlers out there that refuse to chase their dream for fear of living in their car like Devaney.

Favorite part of the story is that they offered him his job back and he said "No, but you can watch me on TV Sunday" (or something along those lines). Great stuff.

Congrats to tom smallwood on his victory over the big nasty.  We were all on the edge of our seats at bowling alley at tourney in saginaw.  What a huge eruption of cheer there was when he threw that first strike.  This man has massive amounts of talent. Before he went to tour trials he was bowling all around michigan dominating alot of tournaments and was on a completely different level than any of the top bowlers in our area and you could see it.  Good job tom knew you could do it and hope this is just the first of many for you sir.  JOEY K from saginaw.
