Title: Mike Wolfe and a 13lb ball?

Did anyone here Mike Wolfe say his ball was 13lbs?  At the end of the tourney when he was waiting for his ball(waiting to make his final shot in the 10th frame) he tells one of the officals that "he needs his ball".  Then you don't hear what the guy tells him but it's obvious he says something to Wolfe.  Wolfe responds by saying his ball is 13lbs.

I thought that was strange but does this guy use a 13lb strike ball?

It won him the title. I'd throw a 13 pound ball to if its crushing the hole

I wouldn't figure him for 13....14 at the least.

I know some guys who drop to a 14 to generate more revs and higher ball speed... but 13? I mean hes a built guy, you would think he could handle 14+

The ball was the Raid i clearly saw the logo a few times when he setting up.

Maybe a rotator injury forced him down in weight, Tim Mack won 100k tournament last year also using a 13 lb er.

This might sound weird, but a guy locally was told that taking time off of bowling this summer to heal may have caused his hand to be in worse shape than it was in the spring.  

He's now using 14lb. equipment and wishing he would have kept bowling...

I just watched it again, "I gotta get my ball back...it's only 13 lbs" sounds kinda like he was joking.

I was joking about the 13lb ball, i didnt trip the reset,and one of the crew told me to throw it harder, so i replied i couldnt its 13lbs, just a joke with the film crew. hope all of you enjoyed the show, thanks for the support

Whew! Thanks Mike. I think everyone here on BR's.com was going to head out and buy 13#'s after hearing that. You saved us all alot of money.

Yea, he did say "It's only 13lbs" But I known seeveral pros to throw 13lbs and win especially coming off of injurues.... Dave D'Entremont use 13lbs fro most of the Regional season

joe jr - my axis is 4 3/8 x 9/16 up, the blk widow was a 80 degree mass with a 5 1/2 inch pin to axis, the raid was the same, but a 55 degree mass, i think Rick Benoit has pics on his website, www.brunswickinsiders.com

Mike:  Congrats also, that was fun to watch.  Wow, was WRW way right or what?  I think I've seen Brian Voss further right than that, throwing over the channel, but not in a long time.  Walter was like the exact mirror image of PDW, LOL.  I saw you shake hands w/Barnes, he sure didn't look happy.
