Ryan Shafer Spare Balls
« on: December 06, 2005, 05:10:19 PM »
I am not sure if I was the only one who noticed this, but ryan shafer used a red ball (I am assuming it was odor eaters) for his 10 pins.

However, he missed a 2-5 using a greenish ball that snapped at the last second, and only took the 7 on a 4-7-10 with that same ball.

This ball was also not his strike ball, becuase he used an orangey-red ball for most of the telecast, and later a purple ball...which I assume is a vertigo.

Just wondering what you guys think may have been the reason for him doing this?? or do lots of bowlers have a left side and right side spare ball??? IT just seemed really odd to me why he would do this...anyways it is possible to say that the green ball may have cost him the tournament...
What are your thoughts??

I think the ball he used for the 2-5 was a Barbed Wire...

I think it's incerdible that Norm Duke has been using a Paradigm as his spare ball... or at least he did in Chicago..

its not that incredable. Brian Voss does teh same thing. Both of them throw their spares exactly the same. Straight off the hand almost backup with no movement at all. I can do that also...its not hard at all. It dosnt matter if you are throwing a super carbide bomb (massive hooker) or something like a scour reactive. If u can make hand adjustments like BV and ND do, then u can do the same thing.
