Look at who are the ones complaining, two of the biggest maroons on these boards, Carl And Necromance. These guys couldn't shoot 250 if you gave 200 pins handicap on these shots. The expect these guys to shoot 270+ every game, but then complain cause of all the strikes. They just like to hear themselves talk, ignore them and they will go away.
My take on the show was this:
Frawly was very nervous, who wouldn't be, your first time on TV in the US at the World Championships. His bowling throught he week proved he deserved to be there and if he were to bowl on tour more, I bet you'd see him on TV a few times a year.
Duke showed guts and no matter how much he played it down, this was for his bowling life. He needed a good showing in this event to make it into the exempt field for next season. How many of us can say thay we could have performed as well under those conditions? Not to mention the cold/flu on top of it.
WRW has had bad ball reactions for last few weeks, on TV anyway. Some of it could be the fact that every knows he will be playing up the outside and they use the dry boards he created to their advantage, creating a different look then WRW expects. And in a one game match, a few frames of uncertainty is all it could take to give your opponent an edge.
Shafer, another close finish in a major. I think he needed to watch the Duke-WRW match and see the dry they created. Maybe a move a few boards to the right and bank it off that bumper, might have worked better then playing inside.
All in all a great show for human drama behind the bowling. Frawly standing up for the international amatuers (some of the best bowlers in the world aren't PBA pros), Duke's story, Shafer trying again, etc.
