Watching an old ESPN Classic match from 2001 and Brian Kretzer has a 11 step approach!! (This might be off by 1 or 2 since he has so many choppy steps).

Anyone ever see anyone with more steps?

He was probably stumbling on the approach.

Well, on the opposite end my father in law has a 2 step.

i was at a pba tour stop and a touring pro referred to kretzer as, "old tippytoes ", due to his 11 step approach.

I believe Brian Kretzer started this approach long ago. It was the only way he could get really deep at the Mega-Buck Tournaments

There used to be a youth bowler when I was in YABA that was really good and used a variety of steps each shot. When it was his turn he'd just pick up his ball and start taking baby steps to the line in the direction of which he wanted to throw the ball. When he caught a rhythm, he'd cock back and unleash a very high revving shot. The name escapes me, but I think he was from either Delaware or New Jersey. His variance in steps was anywhere from 9-15. It seemed like the harder he wanted to throw it(splits & single pins), then the more steps he would take. I haven't seen this guy since like '00 so who knows where he's at now or if he ever changed.

Yay I made the show. A couple of minutes into the show when they focused on that girl and she freaked out when she saw herself on TV I was the one sitting to her right.

No. The closest I've seen was someone in my league who had a 9 step approach.

A really good local bowler gets on the approach, takes 7 or 8 teeny steps backwards, 2-3 teeny steps forward, then goes into her 5 step "standard" delivery.

Wasn't there a point when they were talking about his approach where they said that he used to do something even more ridiculous like 27 steps?

Mike Lichstein from CT who bowls on the NEBA tournament and owns the shop at Bradley Bowl takes like 12 steps and uses the entire approach but still delivers the ball awesome. No wonder he's won over 20 NEBA titles.
