I have to disagree........for his style of straight play, Traber actually has pretty good form minus the late timing.

I can understand why a lot of bowlers don't like his down and in style.  However on the right condition this guy can beat anyone in the world.  He has proved that thru his 4 tour wins.  Of course he's not the best in the PBA but he is not bad ethier.

Thanks Fonz for posting this.  This guy has a simple and to the point approach to this game and he can score huge numbers.

The red ball he was using in 2002 gave him an awesome reaction.

I like this guys style.  I wish I could be that accurate playing the down and in line.

The 1992 ball I couldn't figure out, the 93 ball I'm guessing was a Power Torq, and the 2002 ball does indeed look like a polished up Wow.

A much smaller Nitro shirt.  Jeez, the guy must weigh 75-100 pounds more today than he did in '92.  He kind of just waddles to the line and lets it go.

BTW, he's slimmed down a lot as of late. Noticed that right away this year at Medford.

I have the 2002 show on tape. Actually watched ti last night. It is definately a WOW he's throwing. I still have one that I throw on occasion (NOT because Traber threw it!).    The more it dies the more I like it

  thank God its bowling night!

Exactly!!!!  This is the style i'm working on getting better at.  I may throw out my higher rev swing shot for my A game and become more of a down and in high speed player.  Great strike percentage from that style.

I was watching ESPN classic one day and to my complete dismay there was the most boreing match up I've ever seen Dave Traber vs Dale Traber. In a title match none the less, I fell asleep on the couch by the 3rd frame Yawn. It's happening again typing it out, the only other person more boreing to watch Rick Lawerance the SNOOZE MASTER.LOL

Even though you guys may not like either Traber they have 5 titles between them.

How many do you have?

I'm shocked at how much people don't like the down and in style.  I have heard people say how boring Traber, Scroggins, Lawrence ect...  What about Walter Ray?  I bet you guys would not like Earl Anthony's game at all.  He stroked it down and in.

Dave Traber is not the elite PBA player however he does have 4 titles himself.  Plus when his shot is on would you want to play him?

Everyone's entitled to there opinion I just find it sad that the only way bowlers like your game is by hom many revs you can put on the ball.  I may be taking these replies the wrong way but that is what I get out these post replies.

chi--Guys like the Trabers and the fluffer lefties you mentioned or a guy like Dave Arnold aren't popular because they don't cover 15 boards.

Some guys don't like Dave Traber because of his antics.  Just a fired up kind of gy and others have done the same type of thing and get away with it.  He's got a major title...who can refute that?  Imperial Lanes in Toledo where the Nat'l PBA crown was bowled favored the down and in style.

Why isn't PB III put in the same vein he's basically a stroker?

BTW--Dale Traber was top points guy last year in the PBA Midwest.  I guess, he pretty good if he can be top points guy.
