Name the Player that would......
« on: March 18, 2009, 09:02:46 AM »
So with Storm Nation and Roto Grip domination this year what bowler do you think would have done alot better throwing Utah instead of ebonite, brunswick, columiba or etc...

Me, I think Tommy Jones would have killed them this year with some Utah Stuff.

Storm rolls better on tour b/c the volumes of oil are down this year.  They were higher a few years ago, thats when the absolute inferno and vapor zones dominated.  Its a cycle

I don't know about you, but my carry with Storm gear is amazing, even with my lack of rev rate.  Morich stuff is SO condition-specific that it either carries everything, or carries NOTHING.  I quit using my Awesome Revs altogether because it's so picky about what kind of conditions it wants to carry the 10 pin.  Storm isn't amazingly way better than the other companies, don't get me wrong.  But their equipment is not the corner-pin-leaving garbage you seem to always think it is.

Ahh But I have my opinion and your entitled to yours but in my experinece throwing strom and watching people throw strom is corner pins, and poor carry in general, I don't think Mo is has shot specific as you seem to say it is, I have used my LevRG across multiple conditions from Meduims all the way up to the heavy stuff, Same witn both Nsanes most of my Mo stuff works like that. I have a high rev rate and may have a easier time getting their stuff to work across different conditions, the Cores Mo uses may not help you with that cause they are SO strong.

It all depends on style, I don't think storm is that great if you do fine whatever that is cool. I will stick with Mo, Cause I usally beat people throwing storm when i am throwing Mo!!

Exactly why I find Morich stuff condition-specific.  With my Awesome Revs, if the cover is too rough, it's flat 10 city since the ball wants to rev up and straighten out so early.  But if I have the cover too shiny, the ball gets too much length and snaps too hard off the spot to be controllable, and then it starts leaving flat 10s and high 4 pins.  I finally just retired it since it was starting to crack out from the pin pretty badly anyway.

How quickly you forget that Robert Smith was ripping the covers off Storm stuff only 2 years ago.

So true I remember watching Maximum Bob throwing a Hot Rod Hybrid for a title a few years ago.

I think Rash would have been the biggest benefactor this year were he throwing Storm.

I also think the person who said Weber would do well WITHOUT Storm may be onto something. Pete's release creates all the length he needs. I think he would do very well with Brunswick/Lane #1/MoRich stuff. I used to throw nothing but Storm but working with a coach to change my release (which resulted in me starting to throw with high axis rotation numbers like Weber has), that's when other gear started matching up better for me. I still throw Storm but it's no longer my "A" option.

Mika needs to make a change just for the sake of it. Really doesn't matter where he goes right now but the last couple of times I've seen him on TV he looks like he's in matchup hell.
