Nearly had husband and wife finals!
« on: July 09, 2010, 03:41:47 AM »
I keep in touch with standing and know a few guys from the Southwest regionals I even have or do both with currently. I just looked at the regional in Wichita and Chris Barnes and Lynda Barnes both participated in this even and made it to the final 4 round! Lynda unfortunately lost to Kevin Mitchell but Chris made it to the finals and beat Kevin to win the title. Otherwise would have seen a couples battle!
ROUND OF 2
(Single-elimination match play, best of one.  Losers eliminated, earn $1800)
#14 Chris S. Barnes, Double Oak, Texas, def. #1 Kevin M. Mitchell, Tulsa, Okla., 1-0 (247-195).
ROUND OF 4
(Single-elimination match play, best of one.  Losers eliminated, earn $1200)
#1 Kevin M. Mitchell, Tulsa, Okla., def. #13 Lynda Barnes, Double Oak, Texas, 1-0 (224-180).
#14 Chris S. Barnes, Double Oak, Texas, def. #15 Clint Dacy, Keller, Texas, 1-0 (266-180).

How cool would that have been?  Wonder if anything like that has happened before married couple in finals of a PBA event.

In my opinion Lynda Barnes has been a very underrated player for many years. She has chosen to put her family first as of right now but is still a great player.
