I enjoyed THE SHOW Sunday. PBA telecasts continue to evolve in the right direction. Jaros' performance in games 1 and 2 was phenomenal! Rash capitalized on his early breaks and showed a great mental game.
I just wish ESPN would change ONE thing. There are too many graphics at the bottom of the screen while shots are being delivered. This obscures many things that I would love to see:
Ball drilling
Release
Footwork
Ball and foot position at the foul line
Ball position at the arrows
Show me the score before and after the shots, not during them...
AND THANK YOU ESPN AND ALL THE SPONSORS FOR A GREAT SHOW!

I agree.
Nice show.
Give the new guy a break and let him learn the nuances of the bowling game...
He was pretty funny.
Jaros has a nice game.
Sean Rash is good for the game...comes across well on TV...lot of emotions.

The PBA on ESPN! Now with 30% more laser sound effects!
I liked the show. I like the new guy a lot. He's funny, I like the banter with Randy, and whether he's an idiot or it's an act (probably the latter), I like that he doesn't pretend to know about bowling. Ryan tried to act like he knew about bowling and sounded like a spaz.

They might do away with the segue sounds too. Makes it sound something like a Star Trek laser firing.

Wow, ok so I am not the only one who was irritated by that.
EDIT- Star Trek rules though, just saying.

You were not the only on irritated by the graphics sound effects. I found them extremely annoying. I find them annoying in other sports, as well.
However, I did find myself getting used to them as the show progressed. I don't know if that's good or bad.
Also, I completely agree with RevZiLLa - they need to lose the graphics during the shots so they do not obscure what we have tuned in to see, which is bowling.

-I was excited thinking ESPN was bringing in a sportscaster with MORE bowling knowledge than Dave Ryan to improve the quality of the broadcast. They can evolve the telecast any way they want with extra stuff, graphics, noise, etc., which I don't mind at all, but intelligent and relevant analysis and commentary is important to me. It was like having Dick Enberg do play-by-play at the X-Games and regularly admit he knows nothing about what's going on with Tony Hawk doing the color.
-The line-up on the show was excellent. I've liked Steve Jaros' game and demeanor for a long time, dissappointed he didn't win.
