Any ballreviewers bowling the Masters?
« on: October 20, 2006, 01:41:16 AM »
Obviously, we know that Jeff Carter and CJ will be there, but who else? Give us a shout if you're heading up that way, so we can cheer you on. I'm already saving up the cash to bowl it next year!

I've only bowled 300, but I've benched 345

bass will be there.

He's yet to devulge to me his squad times.

I have neither the talent nor the extra money to give it a shot this year.  I'll be there on Thursday for most of the day.

His(bass) name's not on the entry list.  I'll check and see if he's still going.  I was going to head up to Oshkosh last night to hang out but decided not to pawn my two boys off on Grandma instead.

Unfortunately I won't be bowling this year.
After doing some number crunching I just can't justify bowling that tournament again.

Sorry to hear that Mike.

You have to make it past the 2nd cut to make some $$$......yes?

Say there are 500 entries in this tournament.
With 50+ exempt bowler.
Figure 45 of them will advance.
That leaves 55-65 checks for the other 450.
Now you figure in all of the "good" regional/ staff players.
There goes another 25 spots.
That leaves about 30 checks out there.
Now you factor in the amateur staffers and basically your bowling for 10 spots against 330 people.
A 1:33 cash ratio isn't a sound investment in my book.
All of this to try and double your money if you cash.
Minus your travel expenses.

I know it sounds like sour grapes on my part but that's how I feel.

I'll stop in on Weds. to watch some of the action and to catch up with the guys I haven't seen in a while but to bowl this event I'll pass.
