No Wild Card anymore??
« on: November 06, 2004, 10:28:56 PM »
Whats up with that? Now not only have they gone to all match play, but only 4 make the show and we only get to watch 3 matches instead of 4? On top of that, they probably wont show much of anything as far as how everyone did to get to the show with video clips. They need to have a show on saturday's as well for bowling that does a recap of all match play, who won, who didnt, show some clips of the 10th frame of game 7 between whoever vs. whoever, something, anything. If they can have 4-5 hours a day of tennis coverage, why cant we get 1-2 extra hours a week of bowling? Better yet for the "new PBA", make both semi-finals and finals best 2 out of 3.

P.S. Sorry for the early morning rant, stuck at work, sick, feel like crap and got hardly any sleep.

Hey Laner, I agree perfectly --- it's hard enough to settle for only the short time you see them on Sundays.  Meanwhile, there are enough plays, replays and highlights of the replays of golf and bowling to fill up the rest of the week ---I can't believe that there's not enough interest to at least provide a recap with some decent coverage on who did what on Saturday to get there, etc.  I'm not asking for a "Bowling Channel" -- just more coverage -- hard to believe golf and football are that much more popular.....  o.k. so maybe they ARE that much more popular based on salaries, prize money, etc...but would it kill one  of the sports networks to provide 1-2 more hours of coverage???

And, as an added benefit, the PBA can cram another 12-20 minutes (length of average match) commercials down our throats, if they can find the advertising agencies to buy the minutes ...

Those years of ABC bowling telecasts are growing sweeter and sweeter, without the memory growing dimmer. And to think we complained about Nelson Burton Jr's commentaries.

Sigh ...
