On Staff???
« on: June 27, 2010, 01:53:01 PM »
So went to watch the Midwest regional this weekend in Johnsburg. I straight up saw a guy on staff roll 3 other ball companies stuff or in his bag and made the cut.  He is supposed to be the "companies" truck guy from what I was told.  Just makes me wonder how much bowling ball manufactures keep track of there so called "Staff" guys.  My point is if you signed a contract you better not be rolling anybody else is stuff!  Unless your testing and comparing but dont bring it it with you regardless if you are going to be making the cut or not. This guy is a piece and I have lost all respect for him.  One year wonder in my book.  Yet, maybe his contract lets him do this but I doubt it.  Just venting

Maybe it is in his contract. What company was he with and what other companies did he use?

Doesn't really matter, I don't know his contract.  Sweet deal though if you can roll whatever you want.

if he was with ebonite international, he is probably allowed to throw anything under their umbrella. That has been done more frequently recently.

If it doesn't matter then why post it on here? Ebonite International owns three other companies plus Dynothane, which is overseas balls. If he used any of the four from Ebonite International the staffers do that just like Roto Grip/Storm and AMF/900 Global!

So basically, you don't know all the facts, but he's a "piece" and you've lost respect for him?  That makes a lot of sense.

Lets see I know that most ebo guys can roll anything in there family.  Storm guys guys can roll in there family.  Big B can roll Big B.  Like I said before I don't know what his contract is yet I do know that this company buts a lot of faith in this guy.  Judge if you want, it doesn't matter what I think, I'm just venting.

In regionals guys who are signed to say ebonite, must throw ebonite.  The throwing of other balls in the company only can be done on the national tour.  The only company that can be thrown at the same time is Global/AMF.

With so little info there is no way to guess or know. Since you just want to be mad at the guy then I guess it doesn't matter the answer you just want to be mad at him.

He could be allowed to throw whatever or not currently have a contract.

He could have a proshop contract, which I think depending on the company, allows them to throw other products.

What Marc822 said is correct for Storm/Roto.  I'm a Storm PBA regional  staffer since 1996 but can't throw Roto, but Tour guys can throw both.
