Parker Bohn III....poetry in motion
« on: January 17, 2008, 03:27:20 AM »
I'd always thought he was great.  Then for a few years he looked REALLY good but not great.

What ever he has changed OR CHANGED BACK now makes him look just absolutely GREAT.

Like Dave Davis, like syrup, like Bobby Jones with a golf club, like Greg Louganis powering off the board!

Wow....to get to watch his great ...incredible form right now is a privelege.

Agree?

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS for a year or two I heard he tried 0 lateral pitch and has now gone back closer to "old style"(lateral left for a lefty)....don't know...

Anyone know Parkers true total span?  Including inserts(if he uses and thumb sleeve)?

Definately aren't many out on tour that are smoother than Parker...anyone that can win as many titles and stay as successful for as long as he has is something special.

It definately does seem like he is one of the true good guys....his on camera personna and especially his attitude are something that young bowlers should also study.  I seem to remember last year when Wes Malott won after his son had been in the hospital for a few days, Parker carrying Wes' son out to see his father and get the trophy with him.  If that doesn't say something for the man, I don't know what does.  A true gentleman.

Parker uses an oval thumb sleeve and no inserts.

Hmmmm...I'm guessing add about 3/16 to his cut to cut spans?

I think his style is beautiful. Only second to Richard Wolfe. One is obviously a better bowler.

I think Parker's game was very good in the 80's when he first came on the tour but wasn't until the 90's, especially the mid to late 90's when not only was he the best bowler on tour his game was flawless. He then began the same path in the early 00's but after 2001 his game wasn't looking as good. Then he made these changes with his arm swing, follow through, timing and his thumb hole. Most of them for the worse. Seems like the last couple of times on tv though he is looking more like the bowler he used to be. He's really been doing well this season. It's hard to tell since I haven't been to an event this season since it isn't in my area but I saw these past observations in person.

Brian...

I agree with what you are saying.

I understand he did some grip changes, maybe had some shoulder problems, and has somewhat unwound the changes....I think!

He looks better than EVER before in my opinion!
