Party at Scroggys
« on: April 05, 2009, 07:05:29 AM »
I almost posted before the telecast that I had a gut feeling that Scroggins would win this.  I don't know why, cause I'm not a big fan of his.  Just felt like as many times as he's made the show in the last few years, he was due to win.  Yes, I was too chicken to post this before the show. It was great to see the reaction of Barnes and the crowd to the way Wolfe bowled.  Standing ovation was very classy.  I was really hoping to see Barnes and Duke go toe to toe for the title and POY.  Kinda glad it didn't happen though as I think Wes really deserves the POY honor this season.  Duke, Barnes and O'Neill all had fantastic years.  Congrats to them all.

I think what it shows, is that no matter what, the straighter is always greater crowd shows, that you send it and bend  crowd  always loses. I think you can see why USBC is always difficult for the bowlers that have more than 350 revs. You fluff it up 7 you score. You figure how to throw it up 7 you win boards depending on how to score.

Goes to show you that you can throw it terrible and still win.  He did not deserve to be in the title match.  Barnes got screwed big time.  Congrats to Scroggy though.

Steve,

Are you saying he threw it like a league bowler?

Scott,

He threw it REALLY bad.  When Barnes left the 8 pin, I knew he was done.  Scroggy caved in the whole right side 3 times in that game.  He whiffed the head pin twice I believe that game and almost whiffed at least 3 more times.

Scroggy is the man. Barnes got screwed. Never the less, Duke didn't win, and that's all I really care about. Yay for Malott.
