Party at Scroggys
« on: April 05, 2009, 07:05:29 AM »
I almost posted before the telecast that I had a gut feeling that Scroggins would win this.  I don't know why, cause I'm not a big fan of his.  Just felt like as many times as he's made the show in the last few years, he was due to win.  Yes, I was too chicken to post this before the show. It was great to see the reaction of Barnes and the crowd to the way Wolfe bowled.  Standing ovation was very classy.  I was really hoping to see Barnes and Duke go toe to toe for the title and POY.  Kinda glad it didn't happen though as I think Wes really deserves the POY honor this season.  Duke, Barnes and O'Neill all had fantastic years.  Congrats to them all.

Goes to show you that you can throw it terrible and still win. He did not deserve to be in the title match. Barnes got screwed big time. Congrats to Scroggy though.

Steve,

Are you saying he threw it like a league bowler?

I found it funny when he said "Stop missing it to the left, if anything miss right." Which is something I generally end up saying to myself when I'm having a bad night on a THS, except I'm right handed, lol.

Dislike Scroggy's game greatly. Nice guy, just not pretty to watch IMO...any other day, I would've rooted for everyone else. I wanted Amleto/Richie to win!!!!!!!!!

But after both of them were gone, I rooted for Scroggins, because Mallott deserves POY, hands down. I don't think that Barnes or Duke had the consistently amazing season that Mallott did, and the only way for him to get what he earned was for Scroggins to fight off the other two...he did.

Way to go Scroggy, way to go Wes!

I agree with TwoHanded...in his match against Barnes it seemed like Scroggins missed the pocket on half of his shots, yet Barnes was in the pocket all day long.  Guess luck does have quite a bit to do with it.

What Barnes and the fans did for Richie Wolfe was truly classy.  I had goosebumps on my arms from it.  With as well as he bowled and the reception he got, maybe we'll see more of him next year....guy sure throws a nice ball!
