Anyone have any PBA Fantasy League "sleepers" this year?
« on: September 14, 2007, 06:24:20 AM »
I think Dino Castillo will surprise this year along with Ronnie Russell and Steve Jaros.   Dino has been around the block, and can definitely throw em' when he needs em'.  Russell just throws it great, and Jaros is already a PBA title holder that is too solid to hold down.

Jaros will be on my team from the first week.  He's one of my favorites and he did well for me last year.  I had some doubts about him, but he paid off quite well in the beginning of the year.  Jason Couch, too.  I had him on my team at the beginning of the second half and he made me big points.

Aside from the veterans and TV notables, I don't know much about most of the exempt guys and almost nothing about the non-exempt guys that bowl PTQs every week.  I usually go with one or two powerhouse guys like Duke, WRW, PDW, Barnes.  I'm almost guaranteed that one of them will make the show.

DP,
What do you know about Simard?  I heard he tears the cover off the ball.  Any truth?

I would look for Ronnie Russell and maybe Todd Book for making the show at least once.

Sorry Kenny's been around a while and had a nice physical game but never saw much in his mental. Always thought Randy Weiss and Kenny were about the same as skill level goes. Last time I watched Kenny his game looked more mechanical than when he first came out maybe he has settled in with age. Kenny's dad used to be tied into the PBA I believe as a laneman years ago.

Simard has slow feet with a revrate that rivals TJ, but more end over end.  I'm only seen him play twice and once was inside 5th arrow and the other was outside 1st arrow.  He can really get on it without the ball burning up early.  He bowls with a ton of poise and looks unbreakable on the lanes.  I think he's a shoe in for 2 or 3 shows.

I've crossed with Kenny Simard in several regionals, his is a very nice guy easy going and has alot of revs with control making shows is not out of the question. Probally one of the best young guns to come out of the south in several years.
