i just noticed at pba.com that the 3G brand bowling shoes( dynorooz ) will be pba approved this upcoming year. i also noticed that the bowling balls from 900 Global, lane #1, and lane masters/legends will be classified under the "grassroots" category-----that is they can be used in pba regional and senior tournaments and in the ptq portion of a pba tour stop. they can not be used in any other part of a denny's pba tour stop. i noticed that amf, elite, roto grip, and track are registered under the "all tour competition". would x-guy and/or newguy be so kind as to explain these classifications and their companies reasons for going the route they chose ?

The new "all-tour" classification means that these products can be used on tour, but an additional fee must be paid to the PBA for each ball used on the TV show. This allows the "second-tier" companies to pay a lower product registration fee, and still have products used on tour.

off topic, but wouldnt it benefit the PBA to open up the national tour to the way it was, lower fees for the ball companies and raise the money needed via increased entries?  The whole registration fee and its tiers reeks of strong arming the ball companies, and accessory manufacturers
