Has anyone on here, besides the obvious individuals, bowled the masters?
Just curious what you thought of the experience and if you had the opportunity to do it again would you.

I have bowled in three Masters tournaments, one in Syracuse, the other two in Milwaukee at Bowlero.  I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and though I am not going this year, I look forward to going back next year.  If you plan on going, get sharpened up on your spare shooting and accuracy, because that's the name of the game in that tournament.  If you can avoid the real low games (150-160 range), and pop off a few real good ones in your first ten game block, and end up in the +75 to +100 range, you should make the first cut and set yourself up decent for the next 5 game squad.  I have averaged better every time out, going from 180 the first time to 208 the last time out.  If you can throw a softer speed and create angle it will help, as it seems the faster you throw it, the more you blow out stone corner pins.  I have always scored better on the carrydown squad, as it seems the ball gets too skid/snap on the fresh oil, and the shot holds up pretty well for the second squads.  I hope you go, as it an experience you will not forget, and bowling with the best bowlers in the world is a special thing to do!!  Good luck!!

I bowled in 02' and 03' when they were using the short patterns (34').  The first year I won the spot by winning the state tournament, and really had absolutely no idea what I was doing.  I shot somewhere around 100 under and horribly missed a check.....I won't lie...nerves and environment played a big role (well...lack of execution didn't help either).

The second year I qualified 70th after the 10 games and almost made match play, but fell short by about 20 pins.

I had a blast both years I went....and would love to go back again.  The patterns then were short....and you absolutely COULD NOT grab the ball.  On the old surface at the stadium the gutter really wasn't in play, but you had to control the breakpoint and keep it away from the head pin.

Well thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate the feedback.  I was kicking the
idea around about going for awhile and just decided to give it a shot.  Im not getting any younger and pretty much in my prime so why not. I feel my spare shooting is solid so hopefully that wont be an issue and I can attack the lanes in a variety of different ways. I do have the tendancy to try and over power the lanes (lot of tournaments around here get very blown out) and I know that any decent volume of oil on the lanes takes me a little while to get squared up. But at any rate,  thanks again for the feedback.

I've bowled it twice.
Missed the 1st time by 10 pins.
Missed the 2nd time by about 50 pins.
Will be giving it another try this year.
trying to work out some kinks in my game before hand.

I bowled a couple years ago. I made it to match play by qualifying 42nd, and won my first match against Lonnie Waliczek 645 to 600. The next round I struggled and lost against Eugene McCune 621 to 524 . In the losers bracket, I lost to Brian Alpert 606 to 584. Overall finish was 42nd. I had a blast though, I basically bowled the whole tournament with another bowlers equipment. The stuff I brought wasn't anywhere close to matching up.

I have bowled the past three tournaments in Milwaukee.  The shot wasn't too tough, however spares are very important.  One of the reasons I have bowled the past few years is because it has been so close to home for me.  I would say give it a shot it is really a good experience.

Bowled the first 2 years it was in Milwaukee - totally overmatched the first year and was -100. 2nd year was much better, but could not figure out the low side. +100 on high side (6 games) -110 on low side (4 games). OUCH. Was not throwing it well and was having some mental issues with my spare game last year so I skipped it. Will most likely try again this year - have done a lot of fine tuning to my game and am feeling very comfortable....we shall see.

I usually skip the qualifiers at Bowlero.
La Rim always wants me to bowl them so he can see how that side is playing.
They run a few qualifiers up my way i might try if the price is right.
Can't see bowling more than one of them because now it seems like your chasing your money.
