PBA bowler you want to see have a breakout year?
« on: July 28, 2009, 07:47:12 AM »
With the PBA tour about to get underway with The WSOB,is there  any exempt or non exempt member you
want to succeed that has had no success or very limited success have a break out season?

My choice has got to be Tim Mack.I have always wondered how could do if he was healthy.

Id like to see southern regions rookie of the year Mike Moore win a title---Ive seen him grow over the past few years into a tremendous bowler and person

PDW. He's been looking great in league recently. Hopefully he'll do the same when it counts.

Carter, Fagan, and O'Neil as well.

I say F Angelo. I can't support anyone with a soul patch.

yea very true, you've seen him live so it must look and just seem a lot different than what we see at home.

I'm hoping both Fagan and O'Neill get their first wins this year. Also hope Amletto wins an early event to get exempt for next year. Others that I just want to stay exempt for next year: Rhino, TJ, Robert Smith and Steve Jaros.

I would like to see O'Neill do well.. it is painful to watch him blow up on tv and live.  I have seen him live twice and the frustration you can see on tv is 100 times maginfied in person.  He looks ok at the beginning.. you can tell he isn't 100% confortable but as soon as he throws a bad shot or gets a bad leave you can see him self destruct.  He loses it and his talent can't get through all of the emotion thoughts going through his head.

besides like once, from what i can remember o'neill has shot good every time he's lost, hes usually going 230+ and loses. Like this year the one show, he rang a ten pin to lose by a few pins, nothing you can do about that. He is usually bowling pretty well, but carry behooves him in the clutch.

He has shot big scores and lost.. but the other guys shot higher.. and I can think of a number of games where he is rolling great and then he makes a bad shot or flags an easy spare and he just isn't the same after that.
maybe it is just me but I can feel it in him. When you make a bad shot you can't be shaking your head , pounding your fist, and stomping your feet about it for 2,3 4 frames after it happens. I don't see any of the "champions" on tour doing that... and that is what Oneil does..you can see it well up in him.. and before he knows it the match is over and he has lost..
He is awesome and if he can just fight past it I think he could have a better year than Mallot had.

I mean on tv they show a shot of him grimacing, wincing, gritting his teeth, clinching his hands and body...
but that isn't just an isolated shot/incident.. it goes on for the entire time after he makes a bad shot..

I'd like to see Billy Oatman get through the qualifier to win a title for his exemption. Great guy with alot of heart for the sport. I've talked with him on many occasions. He's very down to earth.

As for the current players, I'd like to see Jason Belmonte, Michael Machuga, & Jeff Carter all have break out years. They all have 1 title, that just to get their feet wet.

I'd like to see a few respark their career like PDW, Norm Duke, Parker Bohn III, Steve Jaros.

I'd like to see ALOT less of Walter Ray Williams. He's just too arrogant and rude.

Machuga has 2 titles. And how has Duke lost any kind of spark in his career? 3 majors in a row? He also had 3 titles this last year. You can't re-spark something that is already burning.

I hear everyone say O'Neil is a superstar in the making.  I don't see it.

Wes Malott and he have the exact opposite loop in their backswing.

Malott and Walter Ray go back outside and loop inside so that their mistake is out.  O'neil seems to have the opposite loop.....

Seems like a nice young man and I wish him well......but....

REgards,

Luckylefty
Ps time will tell it wasn't long ago many of posters on here didn't think Malott would make it out of his quaqmire after his foul against Liz Johnson.  But that talent thing!
