PBA Cheetah thoughts
« on: November 08, 2009, 09:25:57 AM »
Ok so this week show I enjoyed!!! But I think the PBA needs to do a recap of the whole tournment then have the regular semifinals!!!  Realy a Half hour before the Live Finals have a recap of the whole week with player interviews and ball rep interviews.  I think that will build some exitment for the TV FINALS. What you think BR MEMBERS

Other postings say this was a one shot thing .. OK it was a loser .. let's not try it again! My opinion was too much un-necessary talk .. too many commercials .. and too little of what I watch bowling for ... BOWLING!

too much unnecessary talk, the part at the end with Norm and the down by 42 was fine but all the stuff before was too unnecessary for championship bowling on TV. I felt at times like it was a book being shown on TV.

I thought the show was terrific.  It was about the only thing you could do given a taped show featuring 7 game matches.  It may well be the kind of thing that will attract casual bowlers to the PBA shows and perhaps encourage them to become league bowlers.  Lord knows we need to get as many new bowlers as possible or the sport will surely die.

Boring !!  I had to hold myself back from turning it off.  I think the background stuff was good for 15 minutes but after that, lets see some bowling. If this is the best the PBA can do, then the end is very near, whic is too bad. One more thing, did anyone see Tom Clark laugh when Norm threw a bad shot ?

Im not saying that everweek should be like this!!! All im saying is it woul dbe nice if we had a condenced version of todays show followed by the normal stepladder or semi finals with one game matchs that we have growen to love.  Not sure how much longer i would watch bowling if they did this every week.

I liked the tourney this week it was cool to see what the week they have is like.

I don't know what some of you guys are whining about, I mean you guys complain when they present the tourneys in the normal way, complain when they change the format and complain when they try something different.

I have to say it....why on god's earth would people care about Ball Rep. interviews?  Anyone who actually cares about the ball and layout is on this site griping about it every week.  This is the problem with our sport...we care as much about the tools and not the skill of the craftsman.

You don't see them talking to the Nike Tour Rep after Tiger wins a tournament...or the Callaway Rep after Phil Mickelson wins?  Why in bowling is the equipment so god !@#$ important.

Great show.

The reality is that many of us are interested in the balls and the layouts.I actually wish there was more of that type of info given. I was curious to see what layout Duke found that gave him consistent carry, when Cimanelli (sp) began to struggle.

I wanted to know the layout and surface of Cimanelli's two Naturals.

Still, all and all, great show.

My money was on Duke. Cimanelli looked good though. He got shook and could not get his feet back up under him. Great bowler. Better style than many of the leftys out there. Look for him in the future.

My point is that this is what's killing the game.  You probably don't throw it like them or bowl on anything remotely similar.  We spend more time on this site worrying about layouts, surfaces, and core dynamics than about repeating shots and having good fundamentals.

Go look through the Misc section and you'll see what I mean.  People think that the ball is the difference...if they spent 1/2 as much time and money on lessons as they do on equipment the sport would be for the better.

Don't take issue about the need to take lessons from qualified coaches. However, do disagree about it being a waste of time to want to learn about the technical aspects of what is going on.

Hard shot, easy shot, makes a difference for sure. At some point, after the carry down, most shots get difficult. Some more than others.

The more you understand about your equipment and what is going on with the lanes, all things being equal, the better you can adjust, play and score.
