Wow, closest one to me is in WV; about a 6 hour drive.  I know there are a lot of tournaments in WV.  Maybe I can find one or two the same weekend and make it worth the trip.

I'm glad everybody is fired up about the announcement of the schedule. I for one am extremely happy as to how the schedule turned out. There are 9 stops within 8 hours of home for me and some of my favorite areas are back ( Vegas & Dallas ), not to mention some of my favorite bowling centers ( Lava Lanes-Medford / Woodland-Indy / Spectrum-Grand Rapids ). This will be my first time at the stadium since the new installation, so at least i have an open mind about that. For the most part it looks like the schedule is set up very well

As for the sponsors, be patient. They usually dont assign sponsors to each individual event until after the schedule is released

I for one will be rooting for you. Good luck!  And maybe I'll even see you on the pro-am.
P.S. Your league secretarys must hate you for all the paperwork for all those honor scores.

I am real glad to see the PBA back in Reno. We will
be there watching several days, since it is a 20 minute
drive for me! My wife bowled the USBC Nationals this
weekend and the Stadium atmoshpere is more upbeat
since the remodel, looks real good.

Decisions, decisions...3 that are reasonably close Reno (it si during winter break & I love the stadium), Vegas, and Fountain (the closest).

Bowled the ProAm at Fountain this past January and it was great.  I bowled the ProAm in Reno in '04, also a good time.

Bummer.  No more stops in the southeast.  I wanted to go to Birmingham the last two years, it's about three hours away.  I was going to get a group from here to go this season.  Maybe they'll announce a mid-season addition like they did with the Ace Hardware Championship this year.

"Sin City" and "Sun City" back to back?  Clever.

No kidding. I'm glad to see so many events, but no Birmingham and no Atlanta basically means us southerners have nothing to go to.

I am surprised no stop in Birmingham. The gang at Lightning Strikes went out of their way to please the tour. I am interested in finding out why no stop there. Guess no trip from cold snowy SD to AL in late Jan to see the show. If I find anything out why no stop in Birmingham I will let you know if I can. Looks like may have to travel to Council Bluffs then.

The business model for the PBA changed again this year. Last year they did away with the host center fee ( $25,000 to hold a tournament ) and split the gate and pro-am money with the bowling center. The problem that caused was some of the host centers werent as aggressive in promoting their pro-ams as they were in the past, since they didnt have to put the money up front. I know this year they are back to charging the centers the host fee, and now they keep the gate and pro-am money.

I'm not sure if this is the reason we are not going back to Birmingham or not, but it could be a possibility ( same thing for Atlanta ). As far as the Florida area goes, since i've been on Tour ( 2001 ) we've only been there once. I just dont think there are a lot of bowling centers around the country willing to give up their league/open play business to host a Tour Stop during their peak months

I will put in for the time off today. I hope I get to bowl with Jeff in the
Pro-Am.

Does anyone know how much it will cost to bowl in the TQR?
