PBA Dick Weber Classic (January 2007)
« on: December 21, 2006, 12:51:01 PM »
I was contemplating bowling the event, but found out that the prize fund is significantly lower than a standard PBA event this season. Standard events are $180,000, this year, and this particular tournament advertises a $150,000 prize fund.

I didn't quite understand the logic of this as this would draw in the 58 exempt players, plus another 60-80 players that bowl in the West Region, and local amateurs... yet the prize fund is this small.

Am I the only one that sees that this isn't quite right? Are any of you guys bowling the tournament, still? I am just wondering.

Wouldn't consider going if I didn't think I can win. No point in going to any tournament if you don't think you can win.

so if the prize fund calls for 50 bucks first place it would still be worth it because of the experience? jeremy is just wondering why a tournament with more bowlers has less of a prize fund. an answer to his question would be better. I was puzzled myself with the prize fund. with a $500 entry and only 53 people cashing it only makes you question. hopefully someone can chime in with an answer.
