Nice to see that the South will be well represented. What I don't understand was the need for the tape delay. Oh well, yet another bad decision by the PBA.

Uhhhhh, have you heard of a little something called March Madness and the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament?

I love you all, I really do.  Yeah, right.
Yes, and while I will do a bracket, I don't watch college basketball. Neither does the rest of America who doesn't have money on the game. What's the average rating of an NCAA Tournament game? A 5.4 average share on basic cable. It's higher than bowling, but that's still a pretty pathetic rating.

Agreed 100%.....although I do think it is pointless to tape delay all these events because what difference is it going to make for TV ratings in the long run?

You can't be serious.  People take days off from work to watch games.  NCAA games would absolutely draw bigger ratings than bowling.  By far.  Basic cable?  Try network television.  The Tournament is a juggernaut that nobody wants to go against.

Maybe, they can get more advertising $$ when it's not on the same time as the NCCA tournament.  The NCCA tournament holds the #1 spot in the 18-49 age group, the one advertisers love.

I only know a handful of people who actually watch or even care about March Madness.  Then again, they don't care about bowling either.

First off...Congrats to Randy Weiss for advancing as far as he has.  I have known Randy since I was stationed in South Carolina in his hometown of Columbia.  Randy is a really cool guy and deserves to be where he is.

I have seen Randy bowl quite a bit from having been around him.  When I watched the show yesterday and saw that armswing, I was thinking, "Where in the heck did that come from"?  What I am referring to, is several times, his release looked like it was coming over the top of the ball and follow through in front of his body.  In years past, I remember his follow through directly over his right shoulder.  For those that have been around him more recently, is this something he just developed or wonder if he was having some gripping issues (having hard time holding onto the ball)?

When Rob Stone made the reference of Randy being the Chaminade of the tournament, where was Randy Pedersen to say that he had been an exempt player before due to winning the points title in the Southeast?  I am not so sure I would consider Randy as a 16 seed type of player.  But, he definitely is no slouch.  The man can play.  Barnes is definitely more of a 1 seed.  Dick Allen (What is the reason Richie wants to be called Dick now?) I would consider like a 6-7 seed and Randy more of a 10 seed.

So who are you pulling for?  Even though I am a Barnes fan, it would be cool to see Randy get his first National Title.

Just saw this info and felt I had to share:  "CBS/Turner nab best (March Madness) ratings in 18 yrs. Avg: a 6.8 up 15% from last year, according to Nielsen. Sunday's rating/share was 8.5/17."

Considering today's Nielsen ratings for everything are lower than they used to be because of greater variety of entertainment options pulling people away from TV, and spreading their viewing over more channels, those are some big numbers.

Apparently you missed the giant "***SPOILER ALERT***" next to the title of this post. If you didn't want to know who made it to the final show, all you had to do was not read the post. This post was for the people who wanted to look ahead, obviously not for people like you.

I'm just trying to figure out why some asshole has to post the guys that make the final show a month before the telecast.  To what end was that all about.  Just to prove you have Xtra Frame?  Maybe it was to try to prove how much more knowledgeable he is than everybody else.  Bad enough it is tape delayed, worse that some a-hole has to let the cat out of the bag for no good reason.

Storm has it on their website too... Under their "news" link.  That's who said Jaros was in it as well... They did not say that Chris Barnes made it, but he could be from a different region maybe...

Pike, that wasn't a spoiler on the Storm site. They were just reporting that Jaros made it through his first TV match. Jaros loses to Randy Weiss on the next show.

I agree if you see spoiler DON'T read it.  Thats been the way this site has been since it started.   Some people just like to complain I guess.  Its because of people like Curmudgeon that this site isnt nearly as active as it once was.
