First off...Congrats to Randy Weiss for advancing as far as he has. I have known Randy since I was stationed in South Carolina in his hometown of Columbia. Randy is a really cool guy and deserves to be where he is.
I have seen Randy bowl quite a bit from having been around him. When I watched the show yesterday and saw that armswing, I was thinking, "Where in the heck did that come from"? What I am referring to, is several times, his release looked like it was coming over the top of the ball and follow through in front of his body. In years past, I remember his follow through directly over his right shoulder. For those that have been around him more recently, is this something he just developed or wonder if he was having some gripping issues (having hard time holding onto the ball)?
When Rob Stone made the reference of Randy being the Chaminade of the tournament, where was Randy Pedersen to say that he had been an exempt player before due to winning the points title in the Southeast? I am not so sure I would consider Randy as a 16 seed type of player. But, he definitely is no slouch. The man can play. Barnes is definitely more of a 1 seed. Dick Allen (What is the reason Richie wants to be called Dick now?) I would consider like a 6-7 seed and Randy more of a 10 seed.
So who are you pulling for? Even though I am a Barnes fan, it would be cool to see Randy get his first National Title.
Peace doesnt always have to be silent.
