What is the difference between the points leader and the chris shenkel player of the year points leader on the PBA site ???

The points system is what is used to give the exemptions for the players who haven't won a tournament in the previous season.  Points are awarded by the place you finish each tournament for PBA exempt bowlers.  And the chris shenkel player of the year points are awarded to the top 5 bowlers in the stepladder format and top 4 in single elimination format for each tournament.

Where do you have to get to to stay exempt or get exempt ??
