The original information came from Fred Schreyer speaking on Phantom Radio. Just think about that for a second - do you think Fred would go on a syndicated Webcast like Phantom Radio and say something like that if it wasn't pretty solidly set? If it doesn't come off, he and PBA look very bad. In addition, I confirmed the situation with a solid source with direct knowledge of what is happening.
The deal is NOT finalized yet but it is close and the source was very confident about it getting finalized.
If any of you want to make a wager on this coming off I would be happy to oblige.
As for it being a personal blog, this is not a personal blog just posted somewhere out in cyberspace. This is "real" journalism, for whatever that is worth. I have been a newspaper reporter since 1980, full-time since 1990. This blog is on one of the Web sites of The Capital Times of Madison, which was Madison's afternoon daily paper from 1917 to earlier this year when we went Internet full-time with two weekly newsmags that are delivered with our sister paper, the morning daily in Madison, the Wisconsin State Journal.
