The ladies were a hit last year.  This year it seems more people don't like them.  Not sure they have enough $$ to keep t running next year anyway.

I like when the ladies bowl as long as they throw strikes and look good.  Today was absolutely boring to watch.  I'm glad they're trying to get the ladies back on TV to find someone who will pick up the ladies tour again, but man, I struggled to finish watching.

I think Nation is kinda hot, mostly because she's not ugly and she's a good bowler, but wow, they sure didn't make a good case for bringing back the ladies today.

The only women's bowling that I have seen lately that was entertaining was that clash of champions thing where it was a mixed battle with kids, ams, and pros battling it out.  That was entertaining!

what extra cash are you referring to ? a telecast of 1 hr. and 30 minutes will cost less to produce than a telecast that runs longer. for years abc-tv was able to produce a show that had a 5 man stepladder final and a segment on the tip of the week----all this occured in a show that lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes.

I think this is more to my ongoing point the PBA needs 2 HOURS of air time. Not an hour and a half. This way they don't have to jam 5 bowlers in a segment if things take too long. I'd rather see 5 bowlers too. This way we could have seen Sean Rash bowl. Actually, they could have 5 men and the women series on in two hours.
So they cut out frames in the first two matches and they were still late so what is the purpose. AT least the final match is uninterrupted which is much better then before cutting in the 3rs frame.

Go back to the old days when real round robin had 5 bowlers. That includes the US Open also.

The 2 hour ESPN shows were frankly TOO long. Really slowed down the action to a crawl even though you were guaranteed to see all the balls thrown. ABC did it by bowling through most of the commercials but I liked the pace of it a lot better than the 2 hour ESPN shows.

Greg, your memory is failing you.  There is a time when ABC telecasts had players bowling through commercials.

I have a solution. Don't show the ladies at all. Is anyone going to miss them?

I like watching ladies bowl.

I like watching that girl Nation bowl.  I want to place my country in her nation hehe.

But yeah overall, watching the ladies suck.  They got no power, ball just slides and slides.  It certainly ain't like watching the Williams sisters in tennis.  Now they are some athletes.

Anytime I can see bowling on tv is good for me. I don't care if it is old men's tour shows or women bowling. I just love watching bowling on tv. Atleast the pba is on air.

I agree with dumping the ladies...

Watching how bad Macpherson was throwing it this week---and to see her win. OMG. She never turned it alot---but you could count the revs on her ball with half of 1 hand. Then win the tourney throwing 4 straight caved buckets. Disgusting.

I don't watch the women's matches either, its like watching women's golf...sorry...boring and the scores are very low. Try explaining that to a casual viewer who just watched a woman shoot 300 in their local house, like I have done numerous times, while Stephanie Nation just cranked out a 173.

They could do what Indy Car Racing Series does...a split screen. Commercial in one screen and the action in the other.

Uhh ohh, now you've done it.  jls will not be happy, LoL.  I don't mind it.  I like when the O'Keefe's, Nations, Asbaty's, Bellander's bowl.  Fun to watch.  But I'm a horny old man.  It's the same reason jls likes women's golf.  I like women's tennis too, mainly when they're all sweaty & then a cold breeze wafts in....

Since we're talking about the women, how freaking disappointing was it not to see Clara Guerrero on the show this year?

Dude, no kidding. They have got to find a way to get her on TV every week regardless of how she bowls. Maybe she can be a "Frame Girl", walking around the settee area with the frame number after each shot (kinda like the Boxing Round Girls in the ring). Or she can be the Hambone Girl who jumps up and down after each 4-bagger. I'd rather the camera cut to her instead of showing another pointless audience reaction shot. I mean, who cares about seeing the audience clapping?
