Sean Rash, Pete Weber, Ryan Ciminelli, and Nathan Bohr.

Just finished watching the show, I thought it was much more enjoyable this week. It's always more interesting when you have combustable personalities like Weber and Rash.

Two things I thought were interesting.

One: Rash grabbed his plastic water bottle and took a drink during the first match's 10th frame while Weber was on the approach getting ready to deliver his shot.  Obviously there was no crinkle, but with all the drama lately with Rash/Belmo, you'd think he'd be extra careful not to even potentially make a noise.

Two: Is there any bowler in the game who gets better count on bad balls than Rash?  His nose shots get 9, his Brooklyns seem to carry when they matter most (like part of a turkey), and his terrible shots like his first in the 10th of the last match actually strike.  His mechanics looked much more in control than his recent past, but he still gets over amped and throws it bad when he need it most.

One of the benefits of being a high-rev player is pin action. Rash's first ball in the 10th was super light, but his ball has so much power, it gives him a chance to splash pins around. That was the break he needed, and he got it. Anyone who bowls for any length of time knows that breaks tend to even out over time. I have to say, I love PDW, but I didn't really think he needed to throw in that "at least hit the pocket when you need it" line. All that's going to do is keep him saddled with that "black hat," bad boy image they said he wants to shed.

It may have been frustration on Pete's part, but they mentioned that he and Sean are good friends off the lanes.  He might have just been giving him a hard time.  After the commercial they showed a much more pleasant, and honest looking, congratulatory hand shake.

I understand the high rev high speed stuff as far as pin action goes, but the first ball in the 10th wasn't even trying to read the lane.  If a guy gets a late slow messenger, or trips out a 4-9 it's one thing, but to lose to 2 really poor shots has to hurt.  Everyone knows that the breaks even out over time, but I've said things like that (under my breath) when I've lost to poor performances.  He looked kind of like he said it in jest, hopefully that is the case.

And before we crown Rash as the PBA's luckiest player, let's not forget he left a stone 9-pin to lose $45,000 about a month ago to Tommy Jones in the All-In showdown.

Was that event televised?  I don't remember seeing it.  My DVR is set to record anything bowling related.  Maybe I'll have to look on Youtube to see if it's there.

BTW, I wasn't trying to rag on Rash.  Like I said everyone gets breaks, good and bad, on good and bad shots.  It just seems like when he throws one really bad he kind of gets bailed out when it can really help him.  The other guy that had that kind of "luck" was Parker Bohn.  He didn't throw many bad, but I remember him throwing a few 3-7-9's that ended up striking.  A good break would be getting the 9 to fall leaving a make able split, a really good break would be getting the 7 to fall leaving a not very hard spare.  Collapsing the whole thing for a strike...

I used my dvr and it recorded it! I liked the comment that Rob made about Nathan Bohr being a Storm staffer and they listed an Ebonite 250k as one of his balls he was using and he used a black/silver Brunswick Slingshot for spares!!!

Train a child up in the way they should go and when they are old they will do some "Damn Good Bowling", be a "DV8" and not turn from it, besides bowling starts with a Big B!

I thought Pete looked great, really thought he got out of sync with something on his shoes for a few frames in the last game.

Without that sticking happening they were all toast.  The legs go first, do you think his kneebend is getting shallower?  His conditioning for that condition?

Lucky .. agree with you .. thought Weber was going great to the last game .. I thought his ball reaction changed more then a footing problem .. once he lined up with the new ball he was on his way!

So much talk about adjusting the shot .. seems Weber (a successful Pro for many years) went for a ball change .. that makes more sense to me!!
