Can Opener Barnes
« on: February 09, 2007, 01:32:22 AM »
Wow. Barnes opened a big can of "you go home now" on Doug Kent in the round of 32: 300-276-236-249 on what's generally considered the toughest of the five common PBA national patterns.  I'm not necessarily a big Barnes fan or Kent hater, just something of note from the round of 32 this week...

If an 80 year old lady beats necromASSncer azz, imagine how will Kent leave his buutt.....

I can say I don't like Scroogins style and I don't like watch him on TV, but I respect his game and in pro conditions I recognize his avg will be like 40 to 50 pins more than mine.....

necromASSncer, to the schit list.....

Wow, I didn't know it was possible to dislike a form as solid as Kent's.  Excellent timing, great balance and leverage.  He may not be David Ozio, but I can't name too many guys I'd rather copy.  This guy's game is set up for the long haul.

Tony Reyes only bowled a 300 to get to his Title.  He must be worthless

Repetition is everything..

I've seen him bowl in person both in practice and on the TV finals.  Doug Kent DOES NOT impress me.  I have seen better bowlers on my college bowling team and in various leagues.  The same goes for Machuga and Tony Reyes.  I don't know how these guys ever won their titles.

The intention of the original post was more to say "nice bowling Chris even though I'm not necessarily a Chris Barnes fan".  I didn't post Mr. Kent's scores because I didn't feel he needed to be bashed.  Everyone (yes, even you) has bad days on the lanes.

Is anyone there at the tournament who can tell me basically how he was playing the lanes?  Did he just find something the others did not?  I'm sure his round of 16 scores will tell us a little bit.

Necro,

"He doesn't even deserve to be exempt"? Well then who does? Snoop Dooggy Dogg, Britney Spears, Hilary Clinton, or Bill Walton perhaps?  Point is, I think his resume speaks for itself. How can you make an arbtrary statement like that for no aparent reason and expect nobody to say anything?  What makes his style so different that he "doesn't even deserve to be exempt"? When Tommy Jones shot his 110+ game a few weeks back does that mean "he doesn't deserve to be exempt because he was trying to create a line for himself for the rest of the block. As far as  every other sport goes, I am not going to say the Bears suck without stating a reason or opening up for arguments sake.

As far as Chris goes, I am glad I don't have to bowl him with the way he is throwing the ball.

I'm sorry to everyone I offended.  I should of just said I didn't like how Doug Kent bowls.  I would like to be able to bowl against him though if given the chance, even for money if absolutely necessary.  I will probably lose.  But it would be a good experience.  I won't respond to any of the other nasty comments because I don't treat others like that in real life.  I also don't bowl in college anymore.  I bowl in the city all men's league.  I am not the best there either.  Again I'm sorry for offending anyone related to Doug Kent or any of his fans.

Peace.

finally a good post and gainin my respect back

i apologize for the violent post, but i did get pissed because of the posts written, since this is a forum, and everything is typed we cant really understand the real intention of the others, sorry and im going to edit my previous post.

but i have to accept some facts, some bowler may just not have the style we actually like, for instance PA is a great bowler, one of the bests, but i just dont like he's style, nothing against him.

if u expressed in this way b4, im sure we not going to have this kind of problems

I was just going to post about that.  I think Kent gave up after the 2nd game with his horrible 167.  I don't respect his game at all.  He doesn't even deserve to be exempt.  I hope Barnes destroys this week.

How can you not respect Kent's game?  This guy is a great bowler and has just about the best form on tour.  Not too many guys are that balanced at the line.

I find it funny when guy on here bash the pro's.  Most of the pro's on tour would crush most bowlers in the world!

Granted there are pro's who's game I don't like.  However this doesn't mean there not good bowlers.

So to say that Doug Kent rolls aggressive balls slower than the rest means  what?

If you could pick a bowlers form you would like to have which one would you pick?  I would take Kent's form any day.
