PBA show commentators
« on: October 30, 2005, 10:41:29 AM »
After 5 months without a PBA show I was ready, really wanted to see a good show. BUT, once Ryan and Pedersen starting blithering (I use that word advisedly!), I wanted to shove a full size pumpkin down each their throats just to shut them up. I am so far from a violent person, but just listening to their warm-up announcing made so stressed, so irritated and annoyed that I was almost physically ill.

I have to believe that Pedersen didn't believe half (just a wild guess) the crap that he spewed. The guy is a great bowler AND a great pressure bowler, with 13 titles, after all. He knows the situation and what he was saying was NOT the PBA picture.

(Sorry for the rant, but I had to get this opinion into the mainstream.)

While we're hijacking the thread and talking about commercials, the USBC has the greatest slogan ever.  "It's as American as apple pie, and getting better all the time."  You just can't beat a weak simile followed by a false rhyme that lacks any kind of punch.  Yes!

honestly I think peterson was drunk during the tellicast sitting next to his cohort.  I mean dang cat every week has some wild comment to say and it take peterson to try to elaborate.  If I had to explain the crap that comes out of his mouth it might cause me to have a anurism (sp?.  So yeah if I had to sit in the booth with him yeah I need to have a few so there is likely to have new words coming out.

Maybe the two commentator's weren't at the top of their games but what Jump out at me was the Unprofessional on the part of Wes Mallot! First ball of the Championship game, he stones a 10 pin and said the F word, did any of you perfectionist's catch that? He also said "God D**n it" after ditching 1 of his first ball's! Wes Mallot should be Banned from the PBA until he can demonstrate that he can hold back saying his Hill Billy language on PBA telecast's!

Hey.. while we're mentioning all the commercials...  What about that girl at the very end of the USBC commercial?

That was Diandra Asbaty, one of the best female bowlers on the planet.

You sure?  I thought Diandra had longer blonde hair...

On Edit...  Just saw the short, dark haired picture of her on Bowl.com...  Nevermind!

And who liked seeing Tommy Jones in the shower?

I'm sure someone noticed "Ozi O's" on WRW's cereal box.

Finally, those PBA commercials with the bowling ball putting cement in the guy's washer was great, what was the other one?

--------------------
"Mr. Hutz, are you aware you're not wearing any pants?"
"What th-, DAAA!"

"I move for a bad court thingy."
"You mean a mistrial?"
"Right! That's why you're the judge and I'm the law-talking guy."

--Lionel Hutz, Attorney-at-law, The Simpsons

other pba bowling commercial was a guy mowing his yard on a riding mower and looks down and sees a switchblade like knife in his front tire, he looks around and see the bowling ball on his lawn.  Then the "sundays are for bowling" overlay comes up.

There's also the PBA commercial with the guy going golfing and all heads are broken off of his clubs w/ a bowling ball sitting next to the bag. Then the "sundays are for bowling" overlay comes up.

I hope she could make it past one of the Tour Qualifying Rounds and bowl in a tv final telecast.

Randy Pedersen is rediculous on all the comments that he made on the show.  "Mantelligence"....can someone explain to me what that is?  If Diandra or Carin Dorin-Ballard ever made made the show and had to face Tommy Jones, would he say that they would need "mantelligence" to defeat TJ.
Also he made some crack comment about the interference that TJ was experiencing, can't remember exactly what it was but he related it to the distractions that he experience in the Tournament of Champions.  Obviously, Randy is still not over that one.  Randy....one word of advice....bowl better and you'll make the tour.

I didn't get a chance to watch the whole title match on my DVR just yet, but I did see the beginning. I thought Malott said "yuck", not F*ck. I guess I'll have to listen more carefully on that one.

As for the broadcasters, I am so sick and damn tired of Pedersen doing the Crocodile Hunter voice when talking about the oil pattern! Jesus, it might have been like 1% amusing the very first time, but since then it has just been remarkably annoying to me. I'm 99.9% positive that I'm going to bowl the PTQ in Hammond. If I do, I will tell him to cut that stupid bit out or prepare for a choke slam! It's seriously like nails on a chalkboard every time I hear him do it!

Oh, let him keep talking.
I'd rather see you put a choke slam on his butt, if it's what I think it is. (You grab a guy by the throat and if you're strong enough, you pick him up and body slam him to the canvas?)
