Six Flags Shootout is boring
« on: July 07, 2009, 05:48:39 AM »
I like bowling as much as the next guy, but the summer shootout series is really boring to watch. I'll take the winter stuff when you see more bowling anyday. I'll DVR the summer bowling, but if I don't get to watch it it's no big loss.

You are so right about that. Face it , bowling is a nerd sport. Golf is a nerd sport. Cycling however riding 2500 miles in 3 weeks with 1000 of those miles up in the Pyrenees Mountains is VERY COOL! Tennis is a bad arse sport for those in prime shape. Running is a sport for those in prime shape. Power Lifting is for the strongest.

Bowling is for the nerds and none of those guys are cool at all...sorry...

Yes, I am a BIG nerd thank you!

You want to put some money on that?

Seriously. The tourney he won last year for he qualifed for through the TQR. AND it was one of those ridiculous tourneys with a different shot on each lane.  Im sorry that takes some serious skill, no matter how many hands you use.

I enjoyed seeing different bowler's styles one right after another. I did watch all the preliminary rounds. I was looking forward to the finals which I thought might be more exciting. However my brain says it wasn't all that great - I fell asleep about half way through the finals - it was kind of like watching guys take their practice shots before the match starts, interesting for awhile, but too much of the same thing. There was a lack of intensity by the players which was contagious

I think if they had 4 man teams and if each bowler had 3 shots in a row and the last bowler has the 10th it might be a little more exciting.   If they get their 3 then that is pretty huge.. and then if the next guy starts out with a strike, it is a big increase on the score.. but since it is there first shot their is some drama as to if the shot will be good or bad.. but then they have the 2 others to adjust and make up for it..I think it would showcase more of their skill and ability to adjust or not adjust if the first ball is bad.. the way it was it was like .. ok these guys are supposed to strike.. but they are waiting 10 or 15 mins to throw one shot so I can't get on them that bad for not striking.  Like you said.. it was like watching them throw warm ups.
