What a feeling it must have been to win $110K and be 18 years old back in 1983.

Not only that, but the fact that he took out (arguably) the greatest bowler of all time to do so!

It's amazing to look back at these shows and see how much their form has changed between then and now. Case in point: This one, as he had more of a backswing and more hand.. and PDW, whose form drastically changed (the only thing that really stayed with his was the backswing).

Great show to see, as this is one I heard of, but never saw (I was 9 at the time).

BL.

WHAT?

 Nobody won $110,000.

That was the entire prize fund. First place was $15,000.

Still good money in 1983, but not nearly $110,000.

Just kinda weird that you won $15,000 back in 1983 for a title and in todays game, a title is worth $10,000 at the summer swing. At least the US Open prize for first went up, $50,000 now compared to $24,000.

$15K in 1983 is $36K in today's dollars...
