What are the odds?
« on: January 27, 2006, 12:52:33 AM »
What are the odds of seeing a Voss vs Loschetter rematch from last year? Does any one remember the beef cake whining and crying about Chris doctoring the lanes and how it should not be allowed, then his rant on pba boards about the integrity of the pba going downhill. I use to be a fan of Voss until he pulled that tasteless act and took away from his opponents accomplishment. He later said he had no ill feelings against chris but I suspect otherwise. Do yall think that the rules should be changed or is it part of the game doctoring the lanes? You can read more about it here ~~~~~> http://www.bowlersjournal.com/the_messenger/display_article?id=67

Yes Voss showed little class in his blow-up. I guess i wonder why he blew up? Both are righty tweeners and you know the dry spot is there use it or go around it. This style of creating your own shot has occurred for a long time and it very elementary on the pro-level. I understand why they do it and its currently accepted but, I don't agree with it and believe they should be limited to 4 shots either lane and warm up on the other pair. Every sport has its vices and here is one for professional bowling. Who ever was knocking Chris for the low game thats pretty cheesy, just about every member who has made the TV has posted a low score at one time yet that doesn't define their skill level, have a clue.

Can I call it, or what?  Did you read the whole post?  Ethics are Ethics.  The common defense of the Nazi soldier was "I was only doing as I was told."  In other words, "I knew it was wrong, but I did it anyways and now I'm going to hide behind a superior".  You then tried to use the excuse of "If your ball rep tells you to do something, you're going to do it."  Or, "I know it's wrong, but I'm going to do it anyways and hide behind a superior."  Sound familar?  Did I compare murder to bowling?  NO!  I compared unethical behavior to unethical behavior.  If it was wrong for the Nazi's to use the defense of "I was only doing as I was told", why is it ok for someone to use that defense for a lesser offense?  Either way, each party was acting unethically.  If someone tells you to break the law, and you get caught, do you REALLY think a jury is going to buy "Well, my friend told me to do it, so it's not my fault".

Dave Traber has been seen doing the same thing in tournament after tournament when he makes the TV Finals. Randy even commented on it and showed tape of Mr.  Traber doing it. So it seems that Chris isn't the only one,but as was said before, there are others.
I'm not sure I like it either. It's like getting to the lanes early to warm up. It's an unwritten rule that you don't warm up on the pair you're going to bowl league on.

Personally 10 minutes of practice is too much.  I remember the old days when you got 6 practice balls.  Take 3 shots on each lane, or however you wanted.  Personally I liked that rule better.  You had to play the lanes, not break them down to your advantage.
