Or the NFL, tough choice here.
-
DVR'd may watch at some point. NFL all the way!
-
Maybe there's no enough clipping, roughing the passer and personal fouls in bowling to suit your tastes??
"I went to a fight, and a hockey game broke out."
I always record the bowling shows so I can watch whatever parts I want and I enjoy.
-
Im flipping between the two, the show actually is not bad as I thought it would be. Perhaps because I don't know the results or I could be that I cannot sit through an entire telecast with Troy Aikman and Joe Buck calling the game (these two bozos really ruin the games for me).
-
I really enjoyed it. Live bowling....in a bowling center......and a stepladder final!
That's how bowling should be.
-
Very enjoyable. The games were close, and there was even a creative bowling commercial---Roto Grip featured "talking heads" in the bowling ball boxes.
-
damn missed it, pba use to on in September, then October, then November, why we got to wait to January to watch pba when leagues start in September, the way I see it wait till week after superbowl...then you can compete with nascar....just frustrated with pba and way its run

Right hander Todd Book left the 2-8-10 split and shot for it left handed :o
This is not allowed in a USBC sanctioned league, but the broadcasters said it was legal in a PBA tourney . . . .Surprised, never saw that before :-\

Brian Voss did it a few years ago.
-
I knew the PBA allows you to use either hand.
I have always assumed that since the PBA tournaments are all scratch and your PBA average is not valid to enter any handicap tournaments, then you can do what you want to score.
In USBC competition it could be a way to sandbag a lower average.

I remember a couple years ago Wes Mallot wanted to throw left handed at a split during the USBC masters but had the smarts to ask if he could or not. Since it was USBC sanctioned, he was not able to.

I thought it was a really good show and kudos to the winner (no spoilers from me folks) ;)

I 100% agree

Do you have access to ESPN3.com/watchespn.com? If so, you can find it there. I've struggled to find anything on youtube for the PBA shows this year.
-
Grrrr. The show ran over it's time and my DVR cut off the last few frames of the last match. And DirecTV doesn't seem to be one of the providers that partner with espnwatch.com. :/ Guess I'll have to wait for a youtube posting if it ever happens...
-
There's always xtraframe if you want to subscribe. They have all the espn broadcasts if I remember correctly.

The PBA posts them on YouTube on Wednesday's. I'm not sure exactly what time though. Just go to the PBA YouTube channel on Wednesday and it should be there.

Whenever it's a live program or there's a game on before it (and not just a sports discussion), I always add 30 -60 minutes to my recording.

Yeah, it's my own fault. That's what I get for having "PBA Bowling" setup as a series in the DVR and having it just pick up stuff automatically.
-
I missed watching the live broadcast, but I watched it via ESPN3. I think the new bowling facility at South Point gave the World Championship event a different look, as was the case for the other WSOB events.
Could you imagine how jacked that place would be had, say, $500k been offered to the winner instead of $50k? I remember how big of a deal it was back in 1987 when Seagram's was the title sponsor for the U.S. Open, offering a $500k prize fund and $100k to the winner.
-
Hopefully not a spoiler here!
4 days after the event there were two things that really impressed me!
1. The unnamed winner threw the ball so well, I don't know but I think his career is going to go into a new gear! How did he not shoot 279 or something higher! The unnamed winners switch from Reactive to his new spare ball (also unnamed)looks fantastic also.
2. Todd Book throwing his spare left handed....wow. I would not like to bowl him lefty! One of the best switcher throws I have seen. Very coordinated ambidextrous guy!

Good show in my opinion.
