Plastic ball scores

So, can anyone explain why the scores using pancake weight block plastic balls are higher on the Cheetah pattern than when reactive balls with dynamic cores are used?

It's a modified pattern set up for high scoring.

Plastic bowling balls with pancake weight blocks are very effective if the lanes are dry enough.

My urethane high flare scout is one of the best carrying balls I have.  However, the lanes have to be dry enough for it to work.

Lane patterns have the biggest influence on the scoring.

it's the oil pattern not the balls. lanes can be oiled so tough that reactive balls can barely average 200. and lanes can be oiled so easy that plastic balls can average 240+.

As the other two have said, its the lanes.  They modified the Cheetah to promote some scores.

You also have to consider who is throwing those plastic balls.  Give those pros scorable lanes and they will do well no matter what they are throwing.

Maybe this will help convince people that lane conditions have a lot more to do with scoring than the balls.  That's the trouble with bowling, too often who does well is in the hands of the lane man.

if the pba wants it's champions to be elevated to the highest level of skill and admiration then the whole system needs to be changed. the balls are fine. the lanes themselves are fine. the oil pattern needs to be tough....the 40' flat us open pattern for example. and they need to bowl against 4lb., solid wood pins. if you can average 220 on this format you should be elevated to the top rung of the bowling ladder.
