Title: POY Frontrunners are 1st-2nd
Post by: Scolai on March 03, 2005, 11:09:49 AM
Tommy Jones and Patrick Allen are 1st and 2nd places after 12 games of qualifying.  Patrick seems to be dialed in.  He was in 55th place afer 3 games.  He moved up to 27th place after 7 games.  He's currently in 2nd place, 49 pins behind Tommy Jones who is leading the field and carrying over last week's success by averaging 242 through 12 games.

Looks like POY is going to be a tight race.

Looking good for lefties this week.  There are 4 of them in the top 10 - Allen, Scroggs, Lawrence, Miller.  Bohn is just a few spots out in 12th.

Looks good for PA.

I want Rick Lawrence so people can criticize his style, PA so people will say it looks like he has down syndrome, Chris barnes so jtuuhbah-whatever can say he choked, and Dave Traber so everyone can talk about how they love him and dave ryan so much.

Boy, wouldn't that be FUN on here??

Thanks for the hijack everyone.  Props.

Back to the original topic - PA is in the lead now after 13 games.  He is currently 33 sticks ahead of Tommy.  From 55th to 1st in 10 games = kicking butt and taking names.

I think joe was referencing my post, where I mentioned that people liked to bash PA, saying he looked like he had down syndrome (I'm not saying that, it's what people have said here before).

Let's just stick to the facts at hand - the two best bowlers on the PBA tour are pretty much duking it out in qualifying.  Hard to get much better than that on Tour.

A small edit would suffice.  Upon doing so, I will remove my post that is critical of your statement.

Tongue-in-cheek is usually hard to discern from words on a screen.  No hard feelings, I hope.

But PN, you're right, this is really exciting.  This will truly determine, who is the POY.  Cool stuff.

I've only missed a few shows this season....I can't honestly remember him winning at all besides last week...I saw that on PBA.com that he has 3 this year...I thought it was a mistake...

PBA.com cover story:  PA shot 299 in game 12 to move from 13th to 2nd place.

Man, that guy got game!

**on edit**
He finished the 14 game qualifying with a 236 to seal 1st place for the round of 64.  TJ slipped to 4th.

Jones - 4 and out in the round of 32
Allen - Managed to win 1 game but he is out as well

Calm down, Joe.  Sam is just doing what he always does - chiding me for being a wrongsider.  He's just jealous.

Been doing a lot of bowling in Rocky Mount.  I don't have as much opportunity to visit in G-Vegas because I'm rarely out that way on league nights.  I'm still out there most Saturdays from 9-7 tho.

I'll be in Winston Salem on the 12th visiting Ron C's house and bowling with a few of the local BR.com junkies.  The following Saturday I'll be in Staunton, VA doing a craft show with my wife.  Bowling will be on the agenda there, also.

How's Chris?  She still averaging 215 on the house shot out there?

Talk to you later.
