Pro Form??
« on: January 14, 2009, 01:51:22 PM »
I have been trying to work on my game and do things the "right" way.  I have found that this has brought my game down some and of course there are basic fundamentals but you have to go with what works for you.  I bring this up because I have had a problem with a drift of 4 boards to the left that I have never had before and I am trying to get rid of it because drift is bad..

well I bowled the reno pro-am this weekend and can say all the pro's I bowled with drifted.. not a little, a ton.. 5 to 10 boards.. I would also say their form and release was not as impressive as I thought it would be.... They didn't have the tremendous revs or execution that I thought they would.. I'm not saying they are bad in anyway.. they just didn't have the superstar qualities that I thought I would see.. Once they found the shot they were all super accurate...
so I guess it doesn't matter how you do it.. just doing it the same exact way everytime is the key..

JW,

The key is can you repeat what you are doing?  There is no "right" way.  There have been some awesome, PBA Tour Champions with terrible form (Ron Williams, Scott Devers, Rick Lawrence).  But those guys are/were machines, they could repeat what they did naturally very well.

Four boards is not a lot.  Four boards left if you are right handed is really pretty good.  The modern bowling equipment will force you to walk left in order to play the pattern properly.  You can't play 5th or 6th arrow as easily walking to the right.

Reread your last sentence, you have said it all.

like everyone said, as long as you do the same thing everytime then there is no stopping you. theres a guy around here the consistently drifts 34 boards left every shot and averages 230+. his name is ryan kretchmer, idk is you have heard of him. repeating shots is the key.
