They should open it up to everyone and let the PBA Experience drum up interest in regionals and PTQs.

Sounds like a good idea.  Give the leagues high average an entry to the PTQ.  We had over 80 in the PTQ in Hammond.  Maybe El Paso is a bad venue.  Could just be the timing...

According to the PBA site:

No Commissioner’s Exemption was awarded this week and three exempt players – Jason Hurd, Amleto Monacelli and Walter Ray Williams Jr. – have withdrawn, giving eight PBA members a spot in the event through Wednesday’s Denny’s PBA Tour Qualifying Round.
