i couldn't help but notice randy's section about the evolution of the bowling ball. however, the particle ball didn't come out in 2000. brunswick's' jade quantum came out in 1998.
-
...and the fact that he was pointing to a Virtual Gravity which isn't particle.
-
It was a general education segment, everyone here knows what he is referring to, but the average league bowler, new bowlers, and potential bowlers watching the telecast may not know the difference fully. That is why it is up to us, the knowledgeable bowlers to continue the education of what the pros are trying to pass on to everyone.
It really is time to stop criticizing small mistakes, and get out there and pass on our knowledge to bowlers. Since we're "so smart" to sit behind a keyboard and point out mistakes, why can't we use our knowledge to continue to explain the difference, without judging...

Actually, the Virtual Gravity is particle however it is liquefied chemicals in the reactive cover stock. So he was right. The start and pretty much the end of true particles started in 1998 - about 2003. Liquefied particle balls started in the early 00's with balls like the Visionary Scorcher NPT and the Brunswick Inferno and some others.

If you knew Randy, you would realize, more than likely it was not a mistake made on purpose. Randy has such disdain for Brunswick, that he more than likely did it on purpose. He has been upset since Brunswick would not pay him for being ESPN commentator, as Storm has. It is something to consider, as well as understand.

actsbowler21, the fact that i am "smart enough" to know what i'm talking about in this respect really says something: is it possible that randy pedersen had not properly done his homework to fully educate his audience ? or is it like justrico stated, a sour taste left in pedersen's mouth ?
-
Greg,
what I said was not meant in spite or as an attack against you. There are others, and I know you notice it, that do nothing but criticize anything and everything said on television..they portray these thoughts across the boards and argue with the same people who agree with them, just maybe not in the exact terms spoken.
I don't know or care about Randy's issues with Brunswick, I care about the advancement of the game and educating those who don't possess the knowledge we do.
Perhaps I should have first said, GREG HOPPE, I agree with what you are saying, then went on my rant, then we wouldn't have anything to be up in arms about. But the point behind my post is, there are many message boards for us to post on about what happens on tv, but is it really going to do anything if there are 3-4 topics about Randy making a mistake (or purposely) by giving the wrong information.
I wasn't trying to be hostile towards you, your original statement was the first thing I've read about the issue that wasn't attacking Randy on it. Maybe I responded in the wrong thread about my issue with people on the witch hunt week in and week out for mistakes, but I feel that instead of complaining about what he said, we can properly fix the mistakes..

he was just using small words for the less thans i.e. average house bowlers so they could understand, as their comprehension levels are so much lower than the touring pro's
im guessing........lol

So Justin
If I read you correctly, it is alright for someone to say something, in reference to a topic or subject, incorrectly, as long as there are those that will make a point of correcting them to the masses, as long as it is remotely correct. We should applaud them for their efforts, no matter how wrong they may be.
This is the problem with our game, misinformation for the purpose of educating. There are too many that use numerous avenues such as TV, to convey a message and do not always take the time to check the information they may use. Their egos are such, that the masses will listen & believe and then contradict those that may actually know the correct info.
This is why their are those, such as Greg that make a point to correct these instances.
It is also somewhat comical that you are on Storm staff, as is Randy and you are coming to his defense.

Ric,
I am not saying it's okay to misinform, I am saying the opposite. I just feel that we can do more than complain about what one guy says and fix those problem properly. I don't agree with everyone pointing out everything that is wrong multiple times in 2-3 different threads, it's a little overkill. Greg made the right point, he did it in a classy way, unlike others here and in other places.
Like I said, I may have responded in the wrong thread with my frustration, and for that, I guess I apologize. However, I am not defending Randy, I am not the biggest Pederson fan by any f-in means. You're wrong there sir, so please don't accuse me of that, thanks. My loyalties are to a company, not a man's opinion.

it was in jest...I was implying the whole average bowlers v. pro's and thought about 'pro's work the inside of the ball...league hacks work the outside. THB comprehensive ability versus a PBA tour player comprehensive ability...
Maybe I should've just put lol after the first statement
-
yeah i was gonna drop the whole inside outside thing........its cool bro'
