I can't stand Patrick Allen!

Does anyone have similar feelings or am I the only one. After the picture incident I root for him to lose. Even the way he celebrates bothers me!

Well I have met PA is person, although briefly I was introduced to him and he shook my hand.  I am sure he wouldn't know me from adams house cat now but I like him and he is a very nice guy.  Watching someone on TV doesn't give you the right to judge his character.  Everyone on there is a competitor and wants to win, up there with the big boys its a lot different ball game and especially on TV.  As a person PA is a nice guy and he gets my vote for player of the year if I had one to give, and I always pull for him.

Yeah I shook his hand and got a few autographs from him, I think he's a great guy. THe whole picture incident shows how competitive he is. He was bowling for $100,000 dollars and a piece of pba history, of course he should be intense if he wasn't intense he shouldn't have been there. Mika has a terrible attitude but he doesn't show it on camera; PA is just himself all the time and you gotta respect that.

Do you like WRW Jr. because the same thing happen to him and he was irate at the fan who did it. That happens when you have fans down the lanes. Honesty we can dislike a person for that reason because I don't believe any of us have ever been in that situation. If I was bowling for $40,000 and a fan snapped a pic during my release, I can't say I would not be upset too.

Allen is one of the more Humble pro's out there today. He's very competitive and very good at what he does. Best lefty on tour today.

I like PA he is one heck of a bowler . You can not judge a person by the way he celebrate when he wins .You never know what a person have gone through in life.

He should get player of the year

He is a guy who was told he didn't have it!

He's referred to that on TV!

He has worked his tail off!  (he came to our center to practice about 5 years ago, my pro shop friend said..."all he does is bowl"... "He lives to bowl".

I didn't think he was great at that time.  He really is becoming absolutely great.

My hat is off to him for his work and improvement!  I also like his humility about being in these finals!  I believe as he is on TV more and more he is "growing" in to the role of a champion.

I mean 3 straight majors finals!!!  WOW!

I have never understood why people have a problem with PA.  I only know what I see on TV, but what I see on TV is a highly competitive dude that is damn good at his chosen profession.  Count me in as a fan.  I sure as hell hope he makes it to the finals of the TOC and wins his second major of the year.  PA is good.

I have to agree with dbrown.  I fully agree that he is one of the top bowlers out there right now and that he's very talented, but I don't like watching him bowl, and I don't like having to hear him talk.  Whenever he gets on TV I hope the other guy wins.

It's a lefty thing. Being a fellow lefty, I understand him. He comes off aloof, but he's okay once you figure him out. After the Masters, I met him in the tent outside and he was definitely cool although he had just lost. Also, I think he's pretty intense about his craft. Many of you work amused with him after him beat Mika in the roll-off a few months ago, but remember that Mika had never lost to a lefty on TV. Dave and Randy made a big deal about it and you know PA knew full well what it meant to win. While he's not "Mr. Personality Plus", he is who he is.

PA, aka "Mr. Intensity", is one heck of a good bowler.  He must have one heck of an "A" game to make it to three major finals in one year.  I think he lets distractions get the best of him.  I think he needs to work on getting over that obstacle....try practicing while having kids play bumper bowling.  I do that because I had the same problem that PA had, and it has helped me concentrate amid distractions.

He has to remember that he is on TV and every little gesture he does gets magnified 10 times.

I hope PA wins the TOC!!!

My fiance and I know his sister Sheila and she is just as intense as he is on the lanes but they are both good people.  My fiance bowls with Sheila in tournaments and she used to bowl with Patrick on the JBT tour when they were Junior bowlers.  She said he is a nut but still a good guy.

Ive met PA a few times. he is buddies with my boss in the pro shop i work in. The first time i met him i was lik OMG and he was very nice to me and he seemed to be nice. Then i met him again and he was still nice, and he didnt even remember me, but who cares, and then i bowled with him in the Pro Am in the Cambridge Credit Classic, i did see the Mr Intensity side of him, but i think he is a great guy and a great bowler.

I think dbrowninc is learning that he's in the minority as a PA-hater.

I've met PA many times; he knows me when he sees me.  He doesn't talk to me much because I'm the competition, but I understand that side of his nature.  Figure it out - if someone was screwing around with your money-making, wouldn't you have something to say about it too?
