Randy The brainiac

Today in the doubles telecast. Randy trying to be funny said in one of his comments. "That the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor." It looks like the heat had fried his brains and dripping out his ears.

Besides that and other senseless comments. The duels were and are very interesting.

That is a line from the movie "Animal House" said by the late John Belushi.  It wasn't the heat that got to him.  If you haven't seen that movie, it's a classic.  Don't know how old you are, but it could have been before your time?

I noticed that he was quoting a few movies on the telecasts. I can't recall what the other ones were.

Thanks for the update Brian Eger. Since I was looking at it in more serious mode I forgot about the quote in Animal House by John Belushi. Have seen the movie but completely forgot that part. I knew the other quotes from A Few Good Men.

But I can handle the truth that I was wrong in my assessment in what Randy said.

Sorry guys but it was fun watching the matches.

He's been doing that for a long time.  He did Sling Blade, I hear, several times this past year.  I've never seen it, but as far as I know it's not one of those exceedingly quotable movies like Animal House is, so to me, he kinda fell flat with it.

He had me cracking up.  There was one comment going to the commercial something and then... PUNK!

Then the commercial...  Cue the I'm so lost without you breakfast Denny's commercial for 56 times on each commercial break.  That song was starting to make me angry.

Dave Ryan is tolerable when it comes to bowling.  He's not completely out to lunch and he hands the technical stuff over to Randy and either Chris Barnes or Norm Duke, whomever's in the booth that week.  It could be much worse.  Anyone else see the show a year or two ago when Joe Tessitore filled in for Dave Ryan?  Tessitore is a fantastic boxing commentator, but he was just absolutely abysmal at bowling.  He was completely and totally clueless.

Did Chris Shenkel know a lot about bowling?  AND he was GREAT for the telecast!

Joe, read the rest of the post.  Randy was quoting lines from various movies...

"Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience."

I think he said, "He was beaten like a NARC at a biker rally".  Either way, it sounds like he's given up trying to be highbrow because it was a pretty tasteless comment.  Was it me, or did the lanes look they were about 50 feet long?

YES .. I understand misquoting a MOVIE .. but HISTORIC EVENTS that the world is aware of is quite a bit DIFFERENT!

ON EDIT .. If you're telling me that the comment relating to GERMANY was from a MOVIE .. I'm wrong!

randy pedersen is a very funny guy----i've met him at several national tour stops and he always cracked me up. there was a telecast several years ago when michael haugen, jr., bowled pete weber for the title. michael haugen, jr., had a very unique hairstyle that particular day and randy commented that, " he's got that viagra gel look going on ! ".
