RASH = Player of the Year???

I would put Sean Rash in the front running right now for player of the year standings. He's 3 for 3 on T.V., and has been very impressive so far. I know it's early, but he's got a good shot at it.

Who's your front runner right now??

Rash won on the Cheetah and Scorpian this year

but I agree with a few people on this site, if he can improve on his points, currently 14th, to about the top 7, then appears on a few more shows and wins a major, he has a good shot. But that is asking a lot

No.  Bowlers do not have to be exempt to be RoY.  It has to do with the number of events bowled in their "rookie" year with a suitably small number of events bowled before that.  Rash bowled in 19 events last year before he was exempt, and so that was considered his rookie year.  According to the RoY page, he came in second behind Bill O'Neill, who was considerably higher on the points list.  

Unlike PoY, the RoY award seems to be almost entirely based on points; the rookie with the most points is RoY.
