Great Open Show
« on: February 26, 2012, 06:39:43 AM »
Lots of great shots and clutch bowling.  Very little lane help to strike.  Weber wins his 5th Open.

PS.Looks like Bemo is not allowed to have plastic water bottles.  He was using a glass while Weber used a plastic bottle.

Great show on a brutal lane condition. A few items for thought:

1) There was a graphic shown that Weber is the oldest player to win the US Open at age 49. However,  Andy Varipapa won the All-Star twice in the 1940's when he was in his mid 50's. And these were 100 game marathons lasting over a week.

2) Pete Weber is the only player to win the US Open 5 times.....eclipsing his father Dick Weber and Don Carter who each won the All-Star 4 times. However, Marion Ladewig won the womens All-Star 8 times. These too were 100 game marathons lasting over a week.

This was by far the best show that i have seen in forever. Every match was exciting. the crowd was into it. and there was alot of energy. the wsob shows are  somewhat boring ( at least to me ) and i really like the stepladder format. this is how the pba should do EVERY telecast.  i hope they are listening.

There's two kinds of music METAL and bullshit!

Metal rules, you couldn't be more right, stepladder finals is the most exciting and best type of show for TV. If they keep having four guys bowling at once and making it look like a group just open bowling, the PBA eventually die the death from the current death it is on!
